Ok just got back from Silverstone, well choccie button land is only 4.5 miles from there and I got cold....
A wonderful day out and all free, food and drink if you buy any is IMO expensive.(fish & chips £7.50, burger £5.50 chips extra, coffee £1.50)
It was cold at times and did try to rain, so take I suggest coats for tomorrow, if it is hot you can always leave them in the car other stuff depending on how serious you take the day:- rugs, picnic hampers / boxes, drinks, food, salads.
It would seem that it is the first time the Renault World Series has been to Silverstone and I think they have done a wonderful job, loads to look at and watch, I am just glad I took ear plugs and ear muffs the F1 car laps and the 'donuts' at the end of his session were wonderful!! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Going again tomorrow............:j :j :j

It was a good day out :j especially as we live locally.
Got there about 11am and left at 4pm, straight in and straight out, no traffic problems at all. Looks like they were all set-up for lots of traffic though as they've got tempory traffic lights set-up at each junction on the roads around Silverstone etc.
Parking was free and it wasn't a huge long walk from the car parks(fields) to the gate, no queues to get in either.
There were queues for the kids rides so we didn't bother with those or the adult go-karts, or simulators or any of those things.
Took a picnic, but the food stands didn't look too queue-y but looked pricey, the usual at those sorts of events.
Only spent £3.20 on a bag of donuts!!
Didn't get rained on either which was a bonus! Although I think the forecast is looking better for tomorrow, warmer.
Glad we took some ear defenders for our boys.
Have a great day if you go tomorrow.

Hi
We had our two children with us and we didn't need tickets for them, its odd though as I had ordered tickets for them but then read that we didn't need them so didn't get them out, but as we went in the girl on the gate got a couple of tickets out of her pocket (she had loads) and said it was so they were counted! I suppose they like to keep track of how many people are at these events.
I hope that makes sense!0
