I contacted the circuit a while ago and they told me to contact Renault. Renault person said without hesitating that under 16's get in without a ticket. From his voice it sounded as if he had been asked it many many times.
Hopefully Renault and the circuit get their communications sorted before the weekend.

Just looked at the site above - http://www.silverstone.co.uk/php/rm_renault_ws.html, under FAQs and it appears to have been updated to say the following:

"Do I need a ticket for my child?
Children who are under 16 and accompanied by an adult do not need a ticket"

We are! Every race meeting we go to, be it cars or bikes, we always take our food and drink with us. Purely because the food wagons that supply the circuits are (IMO) very expensive.

As per my previous post #158, on the Silverstone circuit site it says parking is free.
