If your computer has a punctuation and spellchecker feature I would strongly advise enabling it if you're going to start an ebay shop.
Or maybe stick to car boots the way ebay seems to be going.....0

OK, I will start off being picky but it is business advice, honest. A good well written item description is essential on ebay, poor punctuation or grammar will put people off so you may need to work on that a little. No text speak, if you don't know how to spell something then use an online dictionary. Yes we all make mistakes, some of my spelling errors are absolute howlers, but it does make a difference to buyers and pays to take a little care.
Your idea as it stands won't work though, your weekly cycle is too short. If you are going to pay out extra for an ebay shop then you might as well use the 30 days you pay for for each item, so you won't have stock left over at the weekend. All you can do really is to set up ebay first, maybe leave the shop idea in the beginning and just use standard auctions, wait for stuff to end and then carboot it. However, I am also a bit concerned that your business model on ebay supports enough unsold items to do a car boot, my own business model requires sales of at least 75% over a monthly period and sometimes I achieve more. If you are planning a lot of unsolds your listing fees will outweigh any profit on the items you do sell.
The next question would be have you got a source of stock lined up already? If not then forget the idea until you have stock as that is the hardest bit of all, getting stock that is guaranteed to sell at a profit is getting more and more difficult.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. My english teacher would have strangled me for a spelling mistake like that. But then again, I did go to a grammar school so I should have been able to spell the word.OK, I will start off being picky but it is business advice, honest. Good advice though in all seriousness. For me if the spelling and grammar is all over the shop ( :cheesy: ) then I wont buy."I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
 For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0

            Told you I wasn't perfect!
I find most of my errors are because my brain thinks one thing and my fingers type something completely different.
I'll go and change my post.
Actually this reminds me of something that happened a couple of years back. I was selling Wedgwood items and for some reason, despite knowing the correct spelling, I insisted on listing them as Wedgewood, it took a fellow MSE'er to point this out to me..and I was really surprised when I checked my listings. My fingers just wanted to add an extra e to the word every time I typed it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. You've picked the worst time to start an ebay venture.
Best just look for a job."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

everyone got to start somewhere.....and you will find out that in theory you can sell this amount and earn that amount etc..... but in reality it doesnt work like that.
it is a quiet time for anybody selling at the mo....either by the way of less things selling or items selling for alot less than they used to.
i would keep an open mind, and dont expect to be 'rolling' in profit after a week or so...it is hard, but if you stick with it, you will learn by your mistakes, as in what sells and what doesnt, etc..
try it and see,Work to live= not live to work0

Ebay is not going to make you a fortune overnight as many people assume, in fact it is very hard now to make a good regular income from a shop.
I have been an ebay seller for the past 5 years, i have a shop and up until the past 18 months i was doing very well indeed, the trouble is so many people are now competing to sell it is difficult.
If you have a niche product, or craft item you have make yourself then this is the way foward, otherwise i would reccomend you steer clear of buying wholesale stuff to sell at carboots and on ebay 0 0
