Yes I am 12 what you going to do?bigmomma051204 wrote: »Also - just to say what everyone is TRULY thinking, How on earth do you expect to be employed with such awful spelling and grammar? If you are 12 years old then your parents should be selling items for you as you shouldn't be able to use Ebay. Plus - where on earth would a 12 year old get "contacts in wholesale"?!!?!!!!?! If you mean you haven't been employed for the last 12 years (i am only guessing as due to your appalling grammar, you could mean ANYTHING!) then perhaps you should explore the reasons Why and perhaps take a trip down to the job centre .......on your way to the car boot ....... in your car which you bought with money earned by doing........? (So many questions!!!!!)

I'd concentrate on doing your homework and increasing your employability by learning to formulate and type coherent sentences whilst at school, as if you don't learn these skills now you won't be taken seriously by employers in future so will be condemning yourself to being a full-time car-booter and part time ebayer (part time as few will find auctions that are misspelled, and others will be put off from buying by your poor use of english)
Though having said that, being able to work out a relation like you did in bold above does show you have some intelligence, it's just a shame it's hidden so well.Do You Twitter?

i totally agree with you on the school part, but what is wrong with being a full time carbooter/ebayer if that's what this young person wants
i know a few people who are professional car booters, and yes pay tax insurance etc
my boys are 12 and 13, and they are at the age where they want more money, and want to earn some extra cash.
my boys sell chocolate in school, out of their profits both of them have bought guitars... and not cheap ones either...they are now saving for a marshall stack ( between them) which they are hoping to have enough money by christmas to buy one, which is around the 1k mark
ok this person might not be old enough to sell on ebay, he also got to rely on their parents to try and make some money, but surely you cant condem or put down this person for thinking and trying to make money at an early age.....rather than spending money....
everyone got to start somewhere.....
edit..... to G3ORG3..... people are right in what they are saying to you, you are young, and too young to sell on ebay, but there are other ways of making money at your age....what od your parents think you should do? maybe by helping them you can make money to save etc...also you will find mse is a great place to find out info etc, put attitude will get you nowhere, we dont get children as young as 12 asking for advice on ebay/carboots etc, and yes there is no min age to be registered with mse ( as far as i know)Work to live= not live to work0 -
Well, I'd suggest that aspiring to be a full time carbooter isn't that much of an inspiration and is usually only the recourse for being unable to get more lucrative employment. Also being largely seasonal I seriously doubt that more than 1% of stall holders at any carboot are 'full-time' purely down to the fact there aren't many places where you can do more than 2 or 3 carboots a week and unless they have very good niches or supplies the income would not be enough to be considered part time.COOLTRIKERCHICK wrote: »i totally agree with you on the school part, but what is wrong with being a full time carbooter/ebayer if that's what this young person wants

As for ebay, well I didn't say there was anything wrong with being a full-time ebayer, it's just unless this lads written presentation is improved considerably he won't be able to make more than a part time income as people will not usually buy from listings that are poorly presented or written. All the full time ebayers I know do agree that there's a huge difference between a well written listing and a badly spelled, worded and presented one. All this does require a basic understanding of the use of english which g30rge seems to be lacking. And that's not even going into his maths skills which is an area that you do need to be quite good at to go into business and to work out ebay fees, costings and profit margins.COOLTRIKERCHICK wrote: »my boys are 12 and 13, and they are at the age where they want more money, and want to earn some extra cash.

G3ORG3 - just wanted to wish you luck - I think it's great that a 12 year old is trying to make some money for himself.
My 7 year old is doing his first car boot sale next month (dad's driving don't worry!), he's organised all his own stock, he's priced it and he can't wait, just hope it doesn't rain....
It's never too early to be a MSE!0 -
rare_stuff......within travelling distance of where i live there are quite a few carboot sales which are all year round.... and if you wanted you could go to ones on a wdnesday, thursday, staturday and sunday.
the people i know who do the bootsales for a job, are house clearance people, who have a unit for storage, and then sell at the boot sales... and believe me some days they take more in one day than someone can earn in a month on basic wage...
its not because they couldnt get a job elsewhere etc or because of their education level etc.... it just that they have found out there is good money in and, they injoy it.... they do work very hard,
and it is great my boys are earning, and learning the value of money by selling in school, as for the hounding  i got to take them to buy the chocolate....:o
edit.....i totally agree with the listings for ebay... with spelling etc.... but give the boy/girl a break.... he/she has an idea, and wants to make their own money......we all started somewhere.... we all made mistakes.... they will learn that its important to learn in school and spelling and basic maths is very important. but he/she will prob not realise this until they leave school...Work to live= not live to work0 -

Hi mate I would do the car booting with all your old stuff and any think that people will give you to sell.
I wish I started to make my self some money at 12.
Make your self a plan on how you are going to make money. I wouldn’t try and go into business at your age learn as much as you can at school and have a lump of money to start a business of when you leave
Here are some ideas for you
Car booting (with parents)
Paper round (when your 13)
Cashbagging – join all the main cash bag sites don’t forget to join your whole family (some sites allow this) this will make you a small packet do all the recurring and daily clicks
Then the money you make from cash bagging (you will only need around £18)
Websites/blog – Make a website add google adsence £? / Money 4 banners £5 / matched £15 monthly and you could make a couple
Once the website is set up you will not need to do anything with it unless you want to
Its all about building and learning
Hope this help and good luck with it0 -
Good luck to you G3ORG3, I think it shows real initiative to be considering making your own money at this age rather than turn to your parents. Everyone has to start somewhere, of course qualifications help, but passion and enthusiasm can't be taught, and it looks like you have those.
I don't see any reason to be rude to this MSEr, after all they are only twelve, come on cut the kid some slack!0
