Here we go guys.......if they cancel the orders lets launch a class action against them under the Consumer Protection Act 1987...........
I saw goods marked at a low price in a shop but the shop refused to sell them to me. Can they do this?

Yes. A shop is not bound to sell you anything or at any price on display. They are making an invitation to treat, and the invitation can be withdrawn at any time. It is the buyer who makes the offer to buy. However, price indications should not be misleading. If they are, it could be an offence under the Consumer Protection Act 1987 and should be reported to your local Trading Standards Office.

I am going to contact CAB to see how we fare on this one, free advice from Solicitors there.
As far as Im aware, the "real legal situation" is called something like "offer to treat" and acceptance of the offer.
As far as I can see the real legal situation is included in the Terms and Conditions which you agreed to accept in placing the order. These state quite clearly that even if Homebase take your money straight away the contract is not bound and title does not pass to you until they dispatch the goods.
So I will be gobsmacked if anyone gets one of these TVs. (but I ordered one just in case:D)
