Heres an interesting one.....Note that if you have accepted payment, it will be necessary to make it clear that receipt of payment is not acceptance of the order and that you reserve the right to return the payment to the customer.illegitimi non carborundum0

Argos seem to be making a LOT of pricing errors just lately (although none as big as this lol)
Someone correct me if i'm wrong, But i vaguely remember something in the past about a major pricing error (could of been the Kodak one), and they got out of honouring the price by saying that a disgruntled EX Employee had hacked their system and altered the price.0 -

If it doesnt come off, move on...
I'd say it would be possible to challenge them if they take the money, as that's acceptance and consideration. Their terms and conditions could then be looked at under the UFCT Act 1977. It really is about time someone took an online retailer to court over misprices like this, as it's the only way to get the Law cleared up on this sort of thing. Retailers shouldn't be allowed to rely on their terms and conditions to get out of legally valid contracts that have been accepted (incorrectly or otherwise) by computer. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Last time this happened with Argos, it looks like at least one lucky customer got his telly in return for keeping schtum........Apparently almost one million orders were placed before Argos realised their mistake, and in particular one person who placed an order happened to be a lawyer who subsequently issued proceedings, which were settled out of court.illegitimi non carborundum0

Kodak had to honour their misprice. The reason for this was because the email confirmation sent out on receipt of the orders stated that the email constituted the existance of a contract. I got one of those babies!
I should add that although legal proceedings were started against Kodak, they backed down when told that they'd probably lose if they went to court. Due to this, no-one has actually taken an online retailer to court in this country over misprices - yet!In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

How about taking this from a different angle...
Is there any company out there offering a price match policy against advertised products?
Find one offering both this TV and a price match policy and see how they respond. That's Numberwang!0 -
Do you think Martin would represent us in a court case.??

Ahh, but it is listed as 49p on BOTH the argos AND homebase websites... (or has been). You can't be expected to know that Homebase is owned by Argos, therefore seeing the same price elsewhere (ie, homebase if you purchased from argos) would give you an indication that it is the current going rate....0 -
So come on lets get this straight :
I receive email or phonecall cancelling my order........WHAT is my response to them ?0
