evening - just planning on a quick visit tonight as me and DH are going to watch Dr who and then a DVD tonight.

had a lovely afternoon out with DS - went to the shopping outlet. Got DS's feet measured and picked up DH's cuff links which he left in his rented suit last week. Then bought some birthday cards we needed, and DS a noddy balloon, and had a nice hot choc and piece of cake each, which we shared with DS. DS also had a lovely time playing in the park bit, and sitting in the noddy and thomas ride-on toys.

Since getting in, DS ate a massive tea, so we skipped his milk. Then in bed for 7. We had a joint effort at cooking dinner - spag bol for tonight with garlic bread, split early to make a shepherds pie for tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for tips about DS and his eating. Silly for me to worry about, but like i say, i am totally out of touch with what he should be eating and what is normal for that age - sometimes i think i feed him like he is 11 months still when he last had a long time at home, and other times he goes for the junk and completely won't eat the real food. I guess i need to reconnect with his needs again.

Chunky - i think our DS's sound fairly similar. Mine slept for 3 hours this afternoon and will sleep for 11-12 tonight. Also always on the go. Although we do have about an hour of DVDs per day. More for my benefit than his.

I did do some research too, and i think i am probably trying to give him huge portions of fruit and veggies, and not enough stodge. Will think about meal planning to make this easier - right my dinner ready now.

    Off i go.

Evening those that are still about. I never came back to report my progress this morning. I managed to clean the kitchen up, moved onto the livingroom, lay on the sofa in the sunshine with the cat and fell asleep until 1. I then had a mad dash to catch the train to town to meet up with the ex for lunch and not long back so very little done.
Did anyone dare to take IKEA up on their 21% sale today? Honestly, I went past where the Ikea is up here (on the train) and the roads were absolutely chocka and not moving an inch.I'd be amazed if anyone got in. I might go Tuesday when I'm off for a 'thing' for the kitchen.(don't know how to decsribe it!)
Very impressed with today's before and after pictures.Good efforts ladies! I might put a weekend aside to make the spare room useable and post some pics too.
I was secretly a Morten fan too but it wasn't cool to admit it at 19.

Michelle, there was something on tele the other day about toddlers probably getting too much fruit and veg, weird as that may seem it makes sense to me. Lots of F&V at that age gave my sons both chronic runs and sore bottoms. The research was in most of the newspapers http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/health/womenfamily.html?in_article_id=559434&in_page_id=1799
Getting him onto whatever you are having or as close as possible will no doubt make things much easier once his little brother arrives :)

soappie well done :) that's a big difference, pooch looks cozy too :)

Solway, I'm pleased I resisted! I did joke to DP that we should have gone but that place is bad enough on a weekend without additional sales!

Made myself an expensive but healthier treat tonight raspberries and yoghurt, I love it but so expensive! Emptied the DW and WM onto airers then put another load in before Casualty started, so I can now sit in peace and stuff my face without feeling guilty.....but that tiramisu is sooooooooo tempting
One day I might be more organised...........

How'd you manage to get him to watch dvds for an hour share your secret please lol, the only thing that seems to catch ds's attention is the my little pony advert:o :D We usually do quiet time for all kids at 7pm which they pick a film i have tried many a time to get little one to watch but he just won't. Even tried to sit him in the buggy but he just goes barmy.

He was certainly the one chosen to keep me on my toes, just this afternoon whilst i was hoovering up he wandered out of the back door, luckily he went into the back garden but the frightening thing was if he had walked that far to the front instead he would have been near the road  . So now the padlock is back out again on the side gates we had fitted because Jack was a little runaway too......

    Evening all

Hugs to all, especially Ladies-in-waiting, and welcome to any newcomers.:hello:

I've had a rubbish week! Work's been getting to me so much I even started applying for new jobs. I'm getting fed up of working every evening to prepare, and still catching up the work that should have been done 4 months ago, if the e-portfolio
had been working properly. Since they sorted that, I've had no "free" time as I've been training every day. Anyway, my colleague had a word with our Line Manager, who called and had a nice chat (we're all Field Operatives) and is meeting F & I on Tuesday to discuss our profile. I said I'll meet her if we can have birthday cake! :rolleyes:She's said pass candidates to other colleague J (who's just started and raring to go) so that I can get caught up! She's being so nice I feel awful about applying for other jobs, but I've just been so "down". Maybe coz Big Birthday looming next week - please can I count backwards after this one? I've got hardly any flying done either, feeling like this.

DD had her hospital assessment on Friday and is in for a cone biopsy a week on Monday. DS has still not got his education sorted, but had a very positive letter from our Assembly member. We've only been fighting since November 2006! I've got physio for both arms again on Thursday. Physio said last time "How long have you had the arm?" I said "All my life!" then he said "Did you go to the doctor with just the one arm?" and I said "No, I took the other one as well!" Really!!!:rotfl::rotfl:
Tennis elbow, but it's really quite bad. I've had 4 injections in right arm, but physio said GP should have sent me straight away as he thinks it's a problem with my back caused by all the driving and PC for work!

OH was out all week for work, so I hadn't seen him since Monday (he's been covering for someone else who's injured his hand so can't drive) and he may be out next week as well so not home for my birthday. He arrived home with a beautiful bunch of red roses, but spoiled it by being really bad tempered because DS had left the key in the front door, so he couldn't get in without knocking. Men!

DS's GF didn;t tell the social worker's everything that's been happening. I think because she's trying to keep the peace. Her parents know it was me that called them, but what can they do? Hire a hit squad? Anyway, her Mum has decided that of the house doesn't sell fast she'll sell it to one of those companies. They never offer market value, so how she thinks they'll be able to afford to move away, with the housing market as it is, I really don't know. Anyway, GF is determined she will leave when she is 16. I've been working on the sunlounge/new study again today, so she can see the work in progress. DS had her and two other friends for a sleepover last night - bodies everywhere, and she stayed till after dinner tonight. She was saying how upset she is about her situation, as her room is now as she wants it, so I asked her to choose the paint for her room here!

I tend to read labels then buy cheaper versions of non branded ones. Just I then am even more of a pain and prefer not to take anything where possible :rotfl: I'm supposed to take over 30 prescription meds a day at the minute but I don't. I think this is sinus more than anything so have just filled a hanky with olbas oil.

Lil_me - I hope you haven't filled a hanky with olbas oil! Superdrug's own brand has exactly the same ingredients. I can't remember if it's bigger bottle/same price or same size bottle/cheaper, but it's definitely better value! I worked in pharmacy too! I did my training when prescriptions were still handwritten in Latin, and I've mixed ointments on a slab with a palette knife! :rotfl:

Oh well, I've rambled on enough, but I haven't been here all week, so please forgive me.

    hello
how can three 9 year olds have so much energy. One of them has just come and told me that she's had a ball. They made their treasure box hearts with a photo of the three of them on it. They made barefoot sandals (tia - these were a fantastic hit), they've made bracelets, rings and necklaces and they made their own pizza's for tea. DH made an amazing treasure hunt for them where they had to work out a morse code letter, get their nails painted, follow loads of clues and then actually dig up the treasure. They were so excited. Then they had an ice cream factory and now they're still chatting but they're quiet so I don't mind. I, on the other hand, have thread 3000 too many seed beads, lol!

I worked for three hours today and my arm is aching but it was sooooooooooooo good to work again. All my clients have been so lovely and one bought me a bottle of wine, one some flowers and one some chocolate as a welcome back to work present. I have the best clients, lovely people.

So, today has been a success. DH and I very tired but happy. I'm going to read the thread for half an hour and go to bed.

    Hugs to all xx

Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

    Evening fellow flyladies.

Work ok tonight - was quite busy so went quickly. Resisted the urge on the way home to get chips and gravy from the chippy and made oven chips & gravy when I got home instead. Very moneysaving.:money:

Well done Soapie and Vanilla - looks like you both worked very hard today. Surely you deserve a dog biscuit or two from Pigpen for all that!

Tia - your ds sounds like a right one! But its always the most mischievious ones that have the cutest smiles and give the best cuddles.

Dh out on a school reunion and the girls fast asleep in bed so the house is quiet now. Was considering giving the lounge and the kitchen a quick tidy but I thinking about it is about as far as its going to get!
