I'm pooped - but it's a good pooped as I've worked hard today. I'm also sipping champagne as I had good news this afternoon. I think I said before I work on a freelance basis, well my current contract is up next week - I knew it was going to be renewed - but wasn't sure how long for. Turns out it's being renewed for another 120 days (which works out to be about 6 months depending on how much leave I take). So I'm v. happy (and must be doing something right!). Cheers

Have dipped in and out of the thread today in breaks. Hugs to those who need them and Johanne - particularly - my waters never broke with my two - the midwife had to break them when I started the pushing stage.

Didn't have a show with DD, though I did with DS. But then with DS, I didn't know I was in labour until that happened! I went to bed as normal then woke up with quite severe back ache. The back ache was coming every 4 minutes so I didn't think it was labour because you're supposed to start off with bad cramps every 20 minutes or so.....

If it hadn't have been for the show, I probably wouldn't have got to the hospital in time - he was born 5 hours and 30 minutes after the first twinge and 2 hours after the show - which included an hour's drive to the hospital. DD was even quicker - 2 hours 30 minutes after first twinge....

But I'm prattling. My updated list is shown below. Although I've not achieved all, I have achieved the majority so I'm heading north......

Off to cook bangers and mash for tea.

LOL.. my 'births' probably win.. and make you all wonder why I have 8.

DS1.. 36 hours of sheer hell..
DD1 16.5 hours.. waters broke first after DS1 locked me out of the house and I climbed over a 6ft high wall and smashed in the back door..
DS2.. 3.5 DAYS of constant every 15 minutes contractions.. they never got any closer together even at the end.
DD2.. 6.5 hours.. but she was induced and speeded up.. 36 hours after my waters broke.
DS3.. 3 days after my waters broke he took 10 hours to put in his appearance.
DD3.. 5 days after my waters broke I got a massive infection and she was sliced out.. including a 1.5 inch gash on her head.. they had about 5 minutes to get her out and did it in 3.
DD4.. they hadn't stitched my internal organs back together after DD3 so I had 2 contractions which ripped my bowel and uterus apart and both DD4 and I nearly died.. another slashing.
DD5.. 4 days of constant 15 minute contractions again before I broke down and demanded another slashing. The hospital staff were waiting for her to die to show me a lesson.. because I am 'difficult' .. I heard them say so.

Only the second labour would I do again, and only if I got a different baby.. the other 7 were quite frankly horrific.. I had PTS after 3 of them and severe PNS after 2.

pigpen less of the horrendous birth stories - you may make me cry - i am such a wimp. I've just emailed you back hun.

soappie well done on the contract - that gives you plenty of security.

mudbath no wonder you are tired. I can barely wobble ten metres at the minute without a sit down. I like walking when not pregnant though. And cycling.

well, not a bad day. And hopefully i will have done enough to sleep better tonight. I need to hang up a load of washing, then have a bath i think. Only 2 more childless days, so i had best have a quick think about what i really 'need' to get done. Also, going to be a bit of a tiring weekend again - DH working at Canterbury on Friday, and will get back in the early hours of the morning so will need a lie in. He then needs to be at work for 7 on Sunday for the whole morning. We also need to try and finish the gloss painting so the fumes will have time to clear.

DH has asked if i can please cross my legs till at least monday. ;) Will do my best as i would rather it were not just yet too. Although before my due date again would be good.

Anyway, just eating my pudding, and then bath with my book. I have had more than enough running around today.

    My list for Wednesday 16/04/08:
    • [strike]Fold bag of undies and put away[/strike]
    • [strike]hang up wet washing in WM from yesterday[/strike]
    • [strike]wash load of moses basket covers [/strike]- then that can be assembled also stuck in baby blanket plus nursery bedding for DS to make up to a full load
    • [strike]Put jewellery in new jewellery box[/strike] and disposed of old jewellery boxes/packaging from jewellery box
    • Spend 15 minutes filing
    • [strike]Clean the iron[/strike]
    • [strike]Clean WM drawer[/strike]
    • [strike]Put away clothes ironed yesterday[/strike]
    • 9LI/9JK schemes of work
    • Sort under the sink cupboard
    • Pack away one box of too small DS clothes
    • Get DH to put in loft, [strike]and get out DS’s next size new stuff[/strike] found them in a black bag in his new room
    extras:
    • cleaned the oven shelves and trays in starclens after a long soak
    • ironed shed loads of stuff
    • cleaned the sindow sills in 2 rooms
    • finished packing my hospital bag, apart from things like hairbrush, birth plan to shove in on (or nearer) the day.
    • reassembled the cooker and WM drawer
    • did another hour ironing/clothes sorting upstairs.
    • made a rice pudding in SC - yum, even DS ate it, and he wouldn't last time. He ate 2 bowls as what was supposed to be his post nursery snack  although he did feed me about half a bowl - for QC purposes, and teaching him to share with his brother :rotfl:
    • gave rest of A's maternity clothes back to her, and had a ten minute chat
    • cooked dinner, with enough leftovers for me to have on Friday when DH will be working.
oh - finished eating so i suppose i should go and get on. I can relax tonight and know if i go into labour bubs will have clothes and a bed, and DH and DS won't run out of clothes. Right, washing basket, hang up while bath runs sounds a plan.

    Michelle, x
