Search with Mozilla/Firefox why the hell not?

Will any of the site admins ever bother to pull their fingers out and fix the search engine so it works with Firefox/Mozilla?
It seems bloody stupid that a site dedicated to money saving doesn't support searches with the biggest free open browser.
The old site's search didn't work with Mozilla and I know I'm not the only one who said when the new site was announced "oh at long last the search will be fixed!". But oh no a forlorn hope.
At least it could say something like "Sorry - search does not support Mozilla/Firefox" when a search is tried, rather than "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms." That's just bloody silly.
Oh well I suppose this post will be ignored along with the numerous emails to support.

speedyjoe is right.
Firefox search does not work for many of us.
I normally use google to search the forums
e.g. if I were to search for this post, I will use the following on Google.
site:forums.moneysavingexpert.com Search with Mozilla/Firefox why the hell not?
I hope this helps.0 -
Although the above search will not bring back results until the Google Crawlers have read it.
So the site administrators, please look into this.0 -
Look at this thread.
There should be no difference between Firefox and IE when searching the forums.
There is a problem in that the forum will not accept keywords beginning with capital letters - even when the result has a capital. But that's for both IE and Firefox.
I'll need to see if this week I can post a couple of unoffical search plugins for the forum and the main site. They're relatively easy to make but need to get/make an icon and host is somewhere.0 -
I've never had any problems using Firefox.0

It's not just MSE that has problems with vbulletins searches. Have a look at www.digitalspy.co.uk Theirs keeps crashing. They've been relying on google searched for a while - though they've restored normal search for registered members.
For a while you couldn't do anything on that site that required a search - including things like finding all previous posts by a member and the like0 -

i have one that returns search results as posts rather than threads. But that was just cobbled together rather than written to standard.
I'm sure I built one to search the main site but I seem to have misplaced it somewhere0 -
I only ever use Firefox for this site and the search works fine for me.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

That works, brilliant! Now every time my wife uses the site, like she does only occasionally, I won't have to explain that to get the search to work she has to use IE. Just now how do I get her to remember to use the search bar? :-)
