How much do you pay for Strong White Flour?

We can't get bread flour at Lidl any more. Aldi don't have it either. Their regular flour seeems like a good deal until you see that it is in 1kg bags!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

hi,
have just checked online and it is 75p!
Have just wrote a strong email to asda asking how they can justify a 50% increase in price on a basic food item - tho sure they will take little or no notice!
Perhaps we should all complain to them?? Strength in numbers and all that, cos I am sure Tesco will follow suit and bang their price up to match it next.
regards

I use wholemeal flour too in my breadmaker and its gone up from 68p to 99p over the last few months. I have been expecting the strong white to go up for awhile now, think I'll go to town tomorrow and buy as much as I can carry as Sainsburys usually do their price increases on a tues night/wed morning.
Bread making must be very popular now as hubby actually got last bag of white yesterday when he did the weekly shop.0 -
Have you tried using either half and half with plain or all plain in breadmaking? Can work out much cheaper.
Is the Doves Farm wholemeal not still on offer? I bought loads when it was on offer in Tesco and Sainsburys, still working my way through it.One day I might be more organised...........
