50% discount off rail travel
Book online between 25 August - 1 September and receive a 50% discount when you spend £40 or more.

You MUST book via the FirstScotRail website

1) The journey doesn't appear to require travel within Scotland
2) The initial transaction value must exceed £40 and the reduction of 50% is shown at the payment details screen (NOT BEFORE).
3) The discount appears to be given on any transaction value exceeding £40 and is NOT necessarily on a per ticket basis. What I'm trying to say is that as long as your total price for tickets exceeds £40 you're laughing! The total price could include 2 adult and 2 child tickets with a railcard and the discount is given on that whole transaction value, including railcard discounts.

Great find.... one thing to consider is that even if your journey doesn't usually cost over £40 you may find paying this much gives you a more flexible ticket....with more availability. In my case travel should be about £21, but there are no cheap tickets available. An open single IS available at £42...but that comes back down to £21 with the 50% off Cheers.

thanks for this - just went to the pain of buying a return for each day of my daily commute until end of october as 50% off works out better than a weekly or monthly season..

Oho!! Even better.. you can buy seperate tickets for totally unrelated journeys! As long as you buy them in the same transaction, and the total value is about £40, I believe you make a 50% saving over the lot!

yep - but it takes time as you have to go through over and over - i bought 18 tickets in all - all 50% off...

may be cookie based, or account based - try clearing cookies or setting up a new account. to avoid problems you could use your partners name (if you've got one!)
