Thanks Farway. That's a REALLY slow bus. Average speed 14 mph!!!

Almost as slow as the Brum circular (the longest 'urban' route in Europe - maybe the world) at 12 mph.

EDIT (24/6): Just found another SLOW 2 hr+ bus from Leicester to Coventry.

Having just returned from Dorset, I've been using my pass frequently. You could count on the fingers of one hand, those who paid a fare to travel. I actually overheard some people saying "I haven't been on a bus for years".

I noticed that some routes have been re timed from 9.35am to 10.15am, to keep us from travelling early. My suggestion if you want to travel earlier that the 9.30 start time, if you want to, is to pay a fare as far as the stop after 9.30, then instead of getting off, ask the driver for another free ticket to the destination of your choice.

No we didn't. The departure from Swanage to Poole at 10.15 arriving at 11.25, was invariably late as the bus was full, so it was dinnertime before you knew it.

Some good info here but its obvious that the rules are not very plain for some to follow.

With so few minutes at my disposal, I thought I'd do a quick click to see the link and WOW! this new site appear to ooze information. I haven't taken it further than an initial look at the opening layout, but it looks ideal.

I have seen another site which has been introduced as a direct result of our free passes, but that one as yet, gives little or no information and has no direct link to submit anything.

It may be that other sites are being prepared covering this subject, but whichever one takes the lead will be determined but the ease of access and the amount of accurate, up-to-date information provided.

Well done. I only wish I had the know-how to provide a site myself.

Another WOW! as I've been tempted to venture further into the site. But I will say no more, other than this HAS to succeed.

its hard work and you wouldn't believe how many emails we have sent off to bus companies asking about concessions etc and how many have NOT bothered to reply.

We will press on. This is a great thread and we just hope people will continue to post here and to our web site so that we can all beenefit, after all, what can be better than free travel.
