I'm not a garden expert at all, but if this is something horrible like vine weevil then the last place you'd want to put it is in your garden or near other healthy plants. (Don't even know if roses get vine weevil!!). I know you don't want to part with it, but perhaps if you phoned the shop they could diagnose what's wrong with it and advise you if it should be disposed of or if it's salvagable.0

actually i've been thinking and we had this last year with another minature rose we bought - and now it's in full bloom this year - perhaps they just don't like the heat and maybe if they've been hot housed they are rebelling - why they can't just dye their hair like i did i have no idea...........But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. On a Friday for the last month or so MrJudi has come back from working away with a bouquet of roses for me. They are lovely and its a wonderful gesture but they dont last many days before they start to go brown and horrible. I cut the stems and put them in vases of water but i dont really know what else i can do to keep them fresher for a day or two longer. Has anyone any ideas? Is it worth buying cut plant food? Any ideas would be appreciated. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I find we get this problem with roses, I think it is because they freeze them, but they never seem to last anywhere near as long as others cut flowers I buy.I had a plan..........its here somewhere.0

dont buy flower food its a con. a few drops of thin bleach in the water all foliage below the water should be removed and cut the stems just before you put them in the water. if any petals go brown pull them off as they will rot the others.:jBaby Finley :j
