AOL v`s O2 broadband

Firstly, there is no 10gb limit on O2, nowhere in their T&C does it quote that.
Secondly, you don't have to purchase anti-virus software from O2, it is not compulsory, there are several perfectly good free anti-virus programmes available on the internet.
"As well as excellent service, O2 Broadband gives you state of the art security software from McAfee at no extra cost, to make sure you’re always protected. And you can use it on up to three computers in your house".0 -

I have been with AOL for a few years and recently requested my mac code to see if they would offer me anything worthwhile to stay with them. They offered me 3 free months and £9.99 after that on 18 month contract which is a fair deal to me. The trouble is if I need to contact AOL via the phone I cannot stand it and it drives me nuts!
I have been looking at o2 broadband which looks all good PLUS UK call centres which is a bonus, I just wondered if anyone has had any bad experience`s with o2 broadband before I make the big switch and regret it!?
Hi
I have been with aol for several years and although i have never had problems when phoning them or with the service overall i moved to O2 last month even though aol offered the 9.99 deal. - the change over was very professional from o2 keeping me well informed and i am finding in much faster than before in loading pages etc - so far so good:D0 -
I used to be a F2S customer, and never even entertained AOL,but after switching to 02's up to 8 Meg package about 2 months ago,I now get the following speeds:
I never used to get speeds this quick when I was with F2S,despite being on a similar package, and although I was happy with their service in the main,I found that 02's free customer service support,UK call centre, cheaper price but not cheaper service, swung it for me.
I also benefit from the 100 day cooling off period with 02,but saying as I'm happy with them,I don't see the need to exercise this right. That's my mutt in the picture above.0 -

That's one people miss, O2 offer 100 days to change your mind on a 12 month contract, AOL offer 18 month contracts with no cool down period.Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -

O2 is now 50 days cooling off(until 30th June), I'm guessing after that point they have enough people in to then remove the cooling off period for new customers

Nope you can keep your email address
"Now, even if you move to broadband -- and stop paying AOL for Internet access -- you never have to give up the AOL email address your friends and family use to contact you.
And you don't have to go through the hassle of setting up a new email with your new provider.
Your AOL® Mail works with any Internet provider to:
Help keep you protected with industry-leading spam and virus protection
Give you flexibility to check email from any Internet-connected computer or mobile device
Use any email software, including Microsoft Outlook "0 -
penny..., aol, bt, tiscali etc LOVE people like you. I have no idea what my email address is (isp related) nor the ones issued by other isps, free webmail addresses have been available for about 10 years, everyone should have one (or several).
Thinking back, i did use my compuserve address to register for something, but i can't remember what, and that was a long time ago (1995/6?)Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -
You are probably having your speed restricted then because the network is busy , run a speed test http://www.speedtest.net/ and post the results
Hope you can see from that i'm no good at posting links.0 -
Looks like 02 are capping your speeds for sure, if your router says 5.6mb but the speed test says just over 2.3mb then are restricting your service0
