Well that's really annoying... after reading this I rushed out to my local Lloyds TSB,paid to park, and got there at 4.32 only to find that it closes at 4.30.

So much for my money savvy afternoon.

I got my account today, manager def confirmed that the offer is oversubscribed and is closing on Friday.

He also said although it will revert to the standard rate after 12 months not to worry and just pop in then as they have offers every year to keep you for the year, and for some reason this years has been very popular.

So people worried about the standard rate after 12 months should not worry as they have special 12 month tie in rates every year apparently, rather than you transfering out.

Also want to add to the thread, that I was in and out in 20 minutes, and had no pressure to buy any additional products.

I opened my today to ensure that I get the 6.5% fixed rate, but didn't transfer anything in as my FRISA with Nationwide only expires on 20/4. She said to come back when it's ready and we'll send out the transfer forms.

Lloyds TSB's Fixed Rate Cash ISA Terms & Conditions say "You can make your deposit by transfer from an ISA product or products subscribed to in in previous years (provided that if you transfer from another ISA you must complete the ISA transfer form as part of your application)...", which would appear to indicate that you will be unable to transfer in your Nationwide FRISA when its fixed-rate period ceases.

i just opened lloyds isa online :j have no money in lloyds to transfer in, and have yet to fill in isa transfer form, but it's definitely open.

btw, i think the only reason they require minimum of 3k is because you will get NO interest unless there is 3k in there.

    Fixed Rate Cash ISA

    Amount InvestedAER/Tax-free (per annum)
    £9,000+ 6.50

My thanks to earlier posters on this board, who spurred me on to open mine today.

However, the counter assistant who I saw first, and the chap who dealt with my application, BOTH said that today, Friday, was the last day.

I don't know whther they were right or not, or whether they is some variation branch-to-branch, but that is what I was told.
