Can't do it online if you are not already a Lloyds TSB customer.
  • This is actually incorrect information. The Lloyds TSB 6.5/8% Isa campaign runs all the way up to May 31st. I do know that from Friday you can open th Fixed Rate Isa online for exsisting customers.

This may seem like a very strange first post, iv'e been lurking months, but I had to correct it

When I opened mine they said that it would be closing early due to overwhelming demand. I've read elsewhere that it's stopping friday.

Debbie42 is correct, and when I went to Lloyds TSB yesterday they said to me that the 6.5% FRISA was being withdrawn on saturday. They did close at 5, so Im going back at 12.30 today to sort mine out once and for all!

Oh well, I saw a memo from head office that said Friday so maybe they don't know themselves....or maybe it's all hype.

I've just opened my ISA over lunchtime - Phew! No problems at all. The guy who opened my account is now saying it closes on Friday too, so it definately must be Friday!

Even though I was a brand new customer, all I needed was photocard driving licence, NI number, and my old ISA details. Oh and I needed to remember my addresses for the last 3 years, and they did a credit check on me!

Me too. Couldn't have taken longer than 20 minutes.

Opened it with nothing - just transferring my old ISA in there. They said I could pay in £3600 any time I want. :)

This sounds like a good deal, especially with the BOE interest rate drop today.

I have been a bit lazy in keeping up to date with my past cash ISAs. I've just checked and it seems my A+L issue 2 is 5%, and I was shocked to see my Halifax ISA is only 3.51% !

So I'd like to transfer both of these to a new Lloyds ISA account.

This sounds good news as it would mean I could just apply asking for the A+L and Halifax ISAs to be transferred-in, and NOT have to make any payment in for the current year's allowance.

Has anyone else sucessfully opened a Lloyds ISA with no new money - just a transfer of an existing ISA from another bank?

Hopefully I'll also be able to transfer in my Barclays ISA when it matures in May.

I did, originally. I intended to put some cash in but it wasn't a pre-requisite.
