Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately they don't cover our location either. We have just moved into our first house, and the lawn really needs a lot of work. Does anyone know of a similar service in central Scotland? Thanks very much.
  • Where are you in Norfolk, I have friends there who have GreenThumb do their
Lawn and they are over the moon with the service:T

I have now got the service from countrywide lawn doctor.Sounds similar, might me a bit more expensive than GT, but the person seemed very nice and at least I know it will be taken care of without me buying diy stuff and lugging it about 4 times a year and it will probably work better.

each to their own, i know that kids like making daisy chains etc, but when i spend so nmuch time on the borders etc it just seems spoilt if the lawn looks patchy and full of weeds

Thanks. I contacted Greenthumb through their website and they have managed to sort it out so that someone can come out to me tomorrow! Thanks OP!

Not much of a gardener myself but hubby likes a nice lawn. Greenthumb has just come out and quoted £14 a treatment but all they do is put down weed killer and fertiliser. They do not seed it, mow it or anything like that. £56 a year could buy alot of weedkiller and fertiliser couldnt it? At the quotation he did say we where cutting it to short and the mower blade needed sharpening. Is it really good value for money or if you have the time will it look just as good with a good quality weed and feed from the garden centre?

Thats exactly my thoughts. You never know who to believe. My Mum had a retired man knock at her door asking as she had a lot of weeds in garden would she let him look at it. He has only cut it, used evergreen complete on it and is maintaining it now.
All the weeds are dying off and the grass looks much greener and tidier.

Ive tried Evergreen and dont think it has done anything to our garden as its still a big mess, and now considering 'greenthumb'
If i could get hold of a decent weed killer that i knew would actually work !!!!!.

If your lawn is really infested with weeds try Verdone . I think a bottle for about £5 will cover 250msq. After 4-6 weeks use weed, feed, mosskill . The mistake people make is just doing 1 treatment with W,F+M/kill and complain when they cant see results . As someone said even Greenthumb do 4 visits per year
