ok well iv been treating my lawn with various stuff from my local garden centre for years, and aways had a nicish lawn, but usualy burn a little bit everytime which is annoying and i couldnt get rid of the woodrush in th elawn either. so a firend recomended using greenthumb (http://www.greenthumb.co.uk/) and have to say it is absoloutly fantastic! i also didnt believe my firend when she said it would be cheaper than me doing it but it is! costs me £14 for a treatment, the decent weed and feeds i buy cost more and dont even last as long! iv been going for a year now and never had my lawn looking SO good, they even saved it last spring when i started to get a leather jacket infestationg killing off my lawn, they came out and treated them too. all i have to do it cut it and enjoy it now!

just thought id share my experience them, my local team in lichfield are really friendly too, he set up my lawn mower for the right height and did some reseeding that needed doing! if you want a nice lush green weed free lawn id recomend them everytime! and saves money over that rubbish frog singin evergreen!

Can I ask how often it gets treated. I've read their leaflets but couldn't work out how much it all costs.

they have 4 basic treatents a year, which basicly keep ontop of the weeds and keep it fertilized, but there isnt a contract its just pay as you go as they say and they also do areations and scarifcations? in the winter which there equipemnt make ours looks like toys! :rotfl:

If its 4 treatments a year that works out at £56 pounds a year + petrol/electric for mower + time. You could concrete for a couple of hundred quid paint green and think about the moneysaving/time saving

My neighbour told me last week she has this done 4 times a year her grass is lovely and green Im thinking about having them too as person who owed this house before wasnt a gardener i got more weeds than grass.
  • Great, I have just come back from B&Q where I bought that Evergreen stuff :o and then I read this.

How big is your plot? My garden is 40'x80' at the back and 40'x30' at front, I wonder how much it would cost me...Do you know if they cover London?

    Thanks for the recommendation!

what area are you in? it is a shame! i think it depends on your area really, i got wanred off lawn doctor in my area as he was expensive, unreliable and untrustworthy, BUT thats just the franchisee not country wide lawn doctor although i guess they should keep an eye on standards. i have heard some people bad experiences with GT in some areas ut not many, most people i speak to are very happy with it.
anyway my firend lives in walsall where there isnt anyone but terry (my greenthumb man) goes and treats her, so might be worth seeing if someone else is nearby.

van, is that metres or foot? mine was 115m squared in total, i would think someone covers london but i dont know?

if you go diy id recomend using the water feed rather than the granule as it wont burn the lawn although it is more expesive, if you go granule just water it wether we have rain or not! its just a cheap product which bursts in the first few days which is why yuou have to water it in to dilute it and which is why its tends to wear off after a couple of weeks.

where abouts are you susie? there may be others like ideal lawn or someone.
