Forget the conspiracy bit - it depends whether the affray if committed would have been moral turpitude. The wiki article may help. My guess is it might be - you were going to set out to commit an assault, rather than just becoming accidentally embroiled in one on the spur of the moment.
If you don't declare it the chances of them knowing are near zero though.
It is long enough ago to make the granting of a visa almost a formality.0 -

No I wasn't but thats ok you was only guessing.
I don't want to not declare it if I should be doing but then I don't want to tick the Yes box if I don't have to.never chew the umbilical cord!!0 -
It's very simple. When it's authorised, just print it out!
Have tried this 4 times now, and my printer is okay but it is NOT printing for some strange reasonWhen you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:0 -
Sorry if this is obvious to some people... but it's not to me, what if you're just changing planes in the USA en route to another country? Do you need to fill out one of these online thingamajigs?
Just spoke with Air New Zealand about this as am weighing up changing the route to be via HongKong to avoid the states (the benefit of going via the states used to be the larger baggage allowance but think thats now gone - used to be 60Kg!) - Yes: even if only transiting and not going thru US immigration - you still need to complete all documentation and provide the fingerprints and photos when landed. If you decline they put you on the next plane back to London and refuse Transit.
I've issues with taking my fingerprints, photos as i'm only transiting and the US is not providing any information for what my information is being used for, how long its being stored or who it is being shared with (the US is not my government or my police force so i've no protection or control of my civil rights) - I believe this action is against my human rights and foresee the next step would easily be mouth swabs (DNA) and eye scans.. if you think this is abit far fetched remember i'm not actually entering the US only refuelling the plane but they are still pushing to take details on everyone they can get hold of...zenophobia(?)0 -
I was planning to go to Las Vegas in April, so searched around last night for prices etc and was going to book something this evening but today I have found out about this ESTA thing. I started to fill out the Green online form but you get to a stage where it asks for your flight details etc but I haven't booked anything yet so what do I need to do first/next. I can't book anything yet as I have a conviction going back over 20 years that I'm guessing now may halt my application. What do I need to do now?
Thanks
I lived/worked in the USA for a good number of years - the general outlook is that nothing exists outside of the US border
Funnily enough when you live in the US they usually want you to tell them everything that would have a negative impact for you - but anything that would be a positive for your isn't applicable as "we can't verify that"0 -
We travelled back from Mexico into the US on the 14th January. We'd completed the ESTA online and were accepted and therefore did not fill in the green Visa Waiver form on the aircraft. On arrival at Immigration we were told we had to complete the green form. When we queried this we were told that the staff had been individually informed on the 12th January that the system was not in place and that green forms still had to be completed. They did not know when it would be in place. So be aware that to save time at immigration, fill in the green form beforehand.0

You would be in transit and therefore a risk, they are extremely unlikely to let you transit without you going through immigration. If you intend to visit NZ often perhaps consider a transit visa for the US, my friend's mum has one valid for 10 years and has allowed her to do money saving flights.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -

Yes it's zenophobia. We are just as good at it.
But info on what the data is used for, how long it's stored and the like is readily available - the US government HAS to publish this. Not sure if it's buried away on the ESTA site, but it's certainly on the Homeland Security one.0 -
Hi,
I've done mine and been approved but as I haven't got a hotel or airline number yet I haven't put it in. Do I need to update it before I get to the airport after I've booked or can I go without this information?0
