Use tee tree on a very small area of skin first, heard some horror stories about bad reactions recently as it is quite strong stuff. One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
We use tea tree too - but just add drops to our normal shampoo to act as a preventative rather than buying anything special. Has worked so far - also use a fine comb once a week - anything to avoid the battle we had when they first attacked!Beckipeg0

My DD has it too, son has never had it. HAve read loads on the internet and the conclusion seems to be that treatments dont work, the only thing is to use conditioner and comb through, every day. I buy a really cheap conditioner just for this, use loads and comb and comb. Cant wait till she is out of this stage as its really common up to year 2 but not so bad after that.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Headlice arent just for christmas, you need to find a method to get rid of them that works for you at the time
. Unfortunately they will be back again and again  ............ There is no cure for life I'm afraid while you have school children

Hedrin is brilliant. I caught them off my children, and couldn't get rid of the blighters as I have long thick hair.
The Headrin was about £11 a bottle, but it worked and I'd use it again. Here I go again on my own....0 -
If you are using the conditioner/comb method you need to keep repeating as it doesn't get rid of the eggs, which in turn hatch out and lay more. Apologies if this is what you are doing and can't get rid, I couldn't out of DDs hair .
I bought several treatments to get rid of head-lice including one on perscription from GPs.they worked on DS first time, but not DD. Fed up I bought 'nitty gritty' the comb, the lotion and the repellant spray. It worked first time :T and touch wood we haven't had another episode since.
It cost me £28 for the lot  but I wish I'd bought that first, instead of wasting money on other treatments. I've seen a link before that mentioned getting a comb on perscription it might have been nitty gritty but not sure:cool:
I ordered before 4pm on a friday and I had the stuff delivered following day. Cut off time for next day del is 4pm. Not sure if they'll be working over xmas though.0 -
Hello frisbee
Your thread will be better placed in the 'Health' board, so I'll move it across.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. Hi the only thing I reccomend is The Bug Busting Kit which is available free on prescription (if you qualify)
the reason Daughter has got them again is because she is obviously hanging around with someone who is not getting treated. The combing method works, it gets rid of them but if your Daughter is in contact then nothings gonna work apart from daily combing.
I did hear that Tea Tree Oil (concentrate type) works, I think its about £3 a little bottle but you only need 2/3 drops and just put shampoo on your hand then add couple of drops of the Tea Tree Oil.
Please dont throw away money on pricey treatments cos as I say your Daughter must be in close contact with others if she keeps getting it.
