Haha, you're all mad!
I've never had blackheads tho so have never 'popped' one. I didn't even know they popped?
Don't carry on if you're eating...
Have to say I love popping a zit though, I only ever get one occasionally now.
But as for scabs....ooooh, nothing like picking a good ripe scab! (Fell into the Asda home delivery crates a few weeks ago, don't ask (!) and knackered both my knees up so had a good time picking the scabs off those lol!)Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

lovely!
Thanks for the advice guys, I did used to do my dd's hair everyday but both my GP and HV told me that daily was pointless as the life cycle is 3-5 days and combong doesn't get the eggs out anyway, so every 3 days was sufficient??? perhaps I better go back to everyday for now.
Its funny how my ds and myself never get them but poor dd is constantly infested. She was clear about a week ago (I had had a full week of getting nothing out of her hair) but she has been back at school for just a week and has them again.
I will go through her hair everyday for the next couple of weeks again to try to get rid of them
so fed up!
my bf makes me mad, her dd always gets them, but she will comb through her hair once and then not follow it up and then lo and behold a few weeks later she is teaming with them again.Aug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -

Combing does get the eggs out though? Some are hard and you have to drag them down the hair shaft with your nails, but mostly, the eggs should come off with the comb.
If your daughter was clear for a week, then they reappeared, it seems as if you have missed one or 2 eggs as it takes around a week for them to hatch.
That's why the hair should be done every day, as if you miss one or 2 eggs, you should pick them up in the next couple of days/checks, which means they won't hatch, to let the cycle continue.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

I think this is where the problem lies though, because of the type of hair my dd has, they are impossible to see (both the lice and the eggs), her hair is so thick and coarse its impossibvle to visually see if I have got all the eggs out or lice. I just comb and comb until I don't get anything out and then do it again a couple of days later but this just continues and continues!, she has so much hair that even though I section it all off the bits that I have gone through invariable end up touching the hair that hasn't been combed through (there is no way to stop this as she has so much wavy hair!!!) so I am pretty sure that some of them are spreading across to the hair that I've already done, if that makes sense.
It ends up where she is in tears because her head ends up sore from all the combing (as I try to get close to her scalp as thats where they tend to be), but I am going to do it every night for the next few weeks to try to get rid of them once and for all, totally had enough of them!Aug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -
Aww your poor daughter, it's horrible for them, my DD used to cry too because she was head sore, but it's got to be done for their benefit.
I used to do behind the ears and around the back of the neck and under more than anywhere else, as the little blighters tend to hatch and stay around those areas because they are warmer.
Good luck with it xTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
I know I try to tell her this and bless her she just accepts it now!, funny though with my dd they tend to not be round her ears and underneath, they always seem to be round her hairline at the front and her parting on top, the blighters, I still go through her hair though starting from underneath and working my way up but never usually find anything until I get to the top part of her hairAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00

Millie - I'm feeling really sorry for your daughter. It must be just horrible.
I can't understand why a hairdresser won't cut her hair though?
Surely encountering headlice are a bonus of the job? It's not as if they don't clean their equipment.
I agree about trimming it yourself. I'd do it in a shot if the condition was getting bad."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
