This explains a lot.....:pYou can also tell Ryan about the time when I was 2 and (apparently) went over and tickled my Dad's feet whilst he was asleep in the arm chair. My Dad has unbelievably ticklish feet and in his sleep kicked straight out.
Apparently I nearly went through the TV..........
And I'm ok now!!!!
 :rotfl:
(oh, and there's the time when - also at 2- my Mum put rat poison down as she found a mouse in the box of porridge and somehow I found it. It was all around my mouth when my Mum walked into the kitchen)
And I'm ok now!!!!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

((((Hugs)))) to Natasha and Ryan! My younger brother managed to slam a door into my hand and break my finger when I was about 5 (he was about 2). Accidents happen... its all a part life... no-one wants them to happen... they are just... um... accidental

I think I've just blown the microwave up...it hasn't been working properly for a while, but it just made a loud 'POP' so I think it's time to get a new one! Lidl are advertising one this week so I might go and look at that. There's always something....
Don't forget to look on freecycle before you BUY an microwave!:D
Edited to add that my mum was poor when I was a baby, and someone, for a treat gave her a big bottle of chanel no 5.......WHICH I DRANK the whole bottle and then was VERY very sick all over the kitchen. Such a lovely combination of smells. My mum can't abide no 5 to this day!
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Snaggs - sorry to hear about Tash's leg. Gotta say bathing her will be fun for the next four weeks (whilst trying to keep the leg and cast dry).
is it wrong of me to be a bit miffed that when I broke bones as a child (I don't do somersaults or hand-stand back flip things any more) all I got was a heavy, hefty plaster of paris cast (in plain white)? I'd have loved a patterned cast! PS accidents happen - hoping everyone's ok.

Ahh poor natasha, what a shame when she has just begun walking. The creche should be OK to take her, the plaster doesnt need much care at her age.The dinos are cute.
My son who is 8 sprained his ankle at school 2 weeks ago, I collected him, made him walk around asda, took him for his swimming lesson and put him to bed, when he woke up his ankle was black and blue and twice the size.
I felt awful, but he is a bit of a hypercondriac (probably because im a nurse) he was x-rayed and strapped up and made the most of me waiting on him hand and foot.I felt soooooooooooo guilty.0 -
Ds3, the one who dislocated his elbow on 2nd birthday, has broken his left wrist twice and his right wrist once, had his appendix out whilst his left wrist was in plaster, broken two of his fingers - all on different occasions and has now had all the different colours of plaster, except pink (lol) but never a picture one! My two other sons and daughter have never been to casualty - thank goodness!!!
PS: Bathing will be fun for the next four weeks - don't envy you that!I stopped smoking 25th June 2007STILL Never complacent but confidentMy debt is GOING DOWN!!!!0 -
Lol, thank you all for making me feel not quite as bad!
I felt like the worst Mum in the world in A&E last night, because of course if you take an injured child in, they ask a million questions (and in the case of the doctor who saw us last night, don't actually listen to the answers....grrrrr.....lol).
As for bathing, I'm not even going to attempt to put her in the bath, I'm just going to do top & tail type washes. Babies don't get THAT mucky really, so she'll be fine!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
You could always tie something plastic around if she does get too mucky. My dd1, had her arm in plaster after being knocked over by a little boy, and had leg in plaster from another problem. We always used plastic bags.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
