I've always changed my own brushes. I get them from the local electrical shop, think they're around £10 or less. It doesn't take me long but probably longer than a repair man. You can see where they go and it's just a matter of getting the old ones out and the new ones in.
I'll have a go at anything if it's out of guarantee...

Hi IA,
As I mentioned above I get my moon on Sun. I have my old washer go spare if you would like it?
I am only replacing it as I am having a new kitchen. It washes fine but the door can be open during a cycle - not v. child friendly - and the rubber bit round the door looks a bit manky. OS maybe able to help with this.
I think I am about an hour away from Staffs (well alton towers) Let me know if it's any use to you.

Our Hotpoint washing machine died about a year ago. It wouldn't empty. We called someone local out to have a look at it (think they charged a fiver), and they said it would cost almost as much as a new washing machine to repair it!
We bought a new machine, and took out the extra warranty. Normally I don't bother, but the broken machine was only a few years old, and because of the amount of usage a washing machine gets, I thought it worth it. Not very MSE I know, but my choice :rotfl:0 -

Can I ask how you got the extra £140 from the OU or is this a one off payment?0 -
Tax credits have increased quite a bit for me and another poster on here. Im guessing its something to do with the budget. Im not spending mine until the year end figures are confirmed lol!:j0
