Old towels and washing up bowls - it's just the transition bit from disconnecting to over bowl.... you have children and worked in a nursery you can deal with *water*..... the higher you hold the tube up during the process the lower the pressure and the less comes out...

Go out together - mil or sil or friend to babysit and have a "date" every other week or something.

Me and dh much the same I never went out because I felt mean as dh has few friends and not much opportunity to go out. Not that I'm suggesting Ste has few friends (honest) but maybe you could take it in turns - you out one week, him the next and the following week the "date" and the following week off.

I never had a tube - I just opened the door -lol!!

So you've already done the door and now it just the water at the bottom of the drum. We just pulled ours outside and the water came out as we went - very heavy though!
