And you live in Scotland & the sun doesn't shine past Watford:rotfl: :rotfl:

So, when I thought I got sunburned at the weekend, it was actually just rust marks then?:rotfl::rotfl:

Having said that I was less than two miles away from our annual air show and the planes couldn't fly because of a sea fret .

The AVON Colour Trend Pencil Eyeliner is one of the best ones i have ever used and it lasts ages. Im not sure what the price of it is supposed to be but when its on offer it can go down to as low as 75p.

  • ...although funnily enough, I was sitting out in the blazing sun for 2 hours on Saturday without any sunscreen (I know, I know...) and got sunburned to a crisp all over my exposed arms and upper chest... but nothing on my face and neck at all. The only product I was wearing on my face and neck at the time was Skin Repair moisturiser  So although it doesn't have an official SPF, I swear it does something.

This doesn't surprise me. Moisturising is a very good way of protecting your skin against the sun. I have just written a post on my blog inspired by this observation from you and some other comments on this thread. You might want to have a look at it.

The gist of it is that you don't need very high SPF levels to give good protection from sun damage and that you need to keep your skin moisturised as well.

I just checked the website:mad:

Thats a load of bull as far as I'm concerned.

They reason they don't put it in is to sell you another product:mad:

I'm really annoyed with them about that

    Can you tell:o

Liz Earle might be being cynical here, but equally some people don't like, want or even need sunscreens. I personally avoid chemical sunscreens whenever I can.

You have to think about this. An SPF of 20 will allow you to stay outside in the sun for 20 times the time it would normally take you to get sun burn - so for me, lets say 20x30 mins = 10 hours. But Betting is Im going to sweat whatever is on my face off in that time, or wipe it off, or wash it off during the course of those ten hours. Now who actually moisturises two or three times DURING the day - not many of us. So you can see her point.

When you are out sunbathing, you keep topping up the sun cream on your body to keep the protection plus you buy a body moisturiser and after sun so its no different really

Whose point can you see suki1964?

The reason I ask is because if its Lizs( ) I still don't follow her thinking.

How can it harm to put an SPF15 in?

I wear full makeup everyday (except when abroad in the sun) & I'm not going to remove & slap on sunscreen & then reapply makeup a few times a day, its NEVER going to happen & LIZ EARLE KNOWS THIS TOO.

    You made that point yourself.

If she just put SPF15 in, it would be better than nothing:mad: Because nothing is what I'm using now:confused: I don't want to buy yet another cream to add yet another layer (my skin got really spotty on holiday from the face block) I want it in skin repair:confused::confused::confused::confused: I don't want another smell or texture on my face, I like the cream I'm using & i want it to stay that way:mad:

Liz Earle knows an SPF included would be a lot better than none, I wqonder how many times she takes her makeup off during the day to reapply her sunscreen:rolleyes:

I'm really annoyed about this, I love the skin repair & I don't want to put a sunscreen on top that will change the smell & feel & may make me spotty:mad:

Sorry to change the subject for a minute, but it's free postage at Avon until midnight tonight (+ 15% Quidco of course;) ). There is no discount code required for the free postage- I don't know if you can use other discount codes as well, but I understand that if you order over £20 you get 10% automatically taken off anyway!

I was thinking of doing an order for some of the Avon stuff recommended on this thread, including this Colour Trend eyeliner.

Does anyone have any other Avon recommendations?

Skin so soft PINK shower gel/creme

    I'm addicted to it.

They had it on offer (saw it on here, the offer, I knew I liked it) for 99p, so I ordered 30 & stocked up, I have them in the delivery box at the top of my wardrobe.

That shower gel & Sure pink go SOOOOO well together.

Does your foundation have an spf in it? I know many do, and if that is the case, maybe you don't actually need another one in your moisturiser?
