Well Done - :T:T:T
Mistakes like this are made by BG. Tis honest truth that my sister and her family had free gas and electricity in their house for about 20 years;)..she has since moved...she had no idea to this day who was paying her gas & electricty (if anyone at all).....:shhh:0 -
Hi SMF2
Yes, I've heard about people in your sister's situation before, it does make you wonder who was paying, if anyone
Nearly time for the August OP to me made, this year seems to be whizzing by faster than usual! I only get my mortgage statement annually - usually early january - so I'm looking forward to seeing it as at the moment I have to ring up to see what the balance isMFW Start Date 1.4.08. Hi all
Just made my £300 monthly OP. I'll call my mortgage provider in a couple of days to get an updated balance and then I can update my signature properly
I've also realised I made a typo in an earlier post whereby I siad I made a £350 OP in July but it should have said £300.
Now off to PM bellsbells for the 2008 totals and then get stuck into a bot of outstanding paperwork/bills etc

Hmm, I guess this post is slightly off my usual MFW topic but it does relate to mortgages and money! My BTL fixed rate is due to end December this year, I've had a look at the deals that are around at the moment to get some ball park figures and at the moment I'm actually veering towards doing nothing when the rate expires and letting it go to SVR. My reasons are
- whilst I can afford the fee it would eat into my savings
- the SVR rate would cost me £90 a month more but this is more than covered by the monthly rental income
- the fee itself would 'cover' 18 months of the additional £90 a month payments so I would rather drip feed this in as overpayments or the occassional small lump sum
By way of further info to help with anyone's advice - the LTV of my BTL is less than 50% so I currently have no potential negative equity and/or re-mortgaging worries, nor do I currently need to release any equity.
Would I be better throwing it all at my residential mortgage, which as you can see if prettttttty big:o
Yours confusedly...MFW Start Date 1.4.08. Updated 23.1.18. MFW date 1.8.18

I've had a few unexpected expenses this month, so far I've spent £90 at the oesteopath and will probably need another £60 of treatment in the next couple of weeks. My kettle also died (though I have had it 10 years) so I've had to replace that too. I just hope nothing else goes in the house, you know sometimes how it feels that the electrical appliances all go at once as if they have all made some sort of pact :rotfl:

I've also been to see a mortgage broker today to check out the BTL side of things. I'd already made up 99% of my mind (is that possible  ) to let it go over to SVR in Dec when the rate expires and after having talked to him I'm now 100% sure that this is the right thing for me to do taking all things into consideration.
I've also decided to resist all temptation for at least another year to make any OP's to the BTL and keep focused on my main mortgage.
I've just had a nice little play with the pretty spreadsheet - you know how you do when you put various permutations in to see what is possible; i'm such a saddo that I'm also thinking of making small weekly OP's just to get the Op fix, silly I know as if I can afford to do that I might as well add it on to the official monthly OP to save further interest. Aaaah, ATT, it's always good to realise there are people as sad (if not sadder) than ourselves out there - luckily we have this board to be our sad selves in a safe haven!
I know what you mean about the "fix" though - roll on 1st Sept when things will happen again with money!!!

Lightweight...... you'll know you really [strike]have a problem [/strike]ahem, are taking a proactive approach when you pay money in & out of offset at least once a day
or is that just me
Seriously, the more often you make OP's the more focused you'll become - synergy or something clever like that....A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
