It's almost two weeks now since I've been on MSE so I'm really behind updating my own thread and reading all the great stuff you other MFW'ers have been up to.

No good reason for my abscence other than working very hard and very limited and/or no internet access during the week:o

I hope all your plans are steaming ahead? My next OP is due this Friday so I'll be looking forward to making it and updating my signature and spreadsh:jeet

Just a quick update on the BTL position - I mentioned in an earlier thread that the tenant had stayed on a couple of weeks longer than expected, well they stayed nearly another couple of weeks after than so I've had almost a month's extra money. The unexpected money was very welcome as I knew I probably had to spend approx £500 getting it smarted up. I now think the £500 was over the top as decorating and repairs has come in at £150, carpets cleaning will be another £150 and then I've bought some new bedding. There will be a couple of other bits to get but I'm sure it will all come in under £400 so good news.

I've had the two viewings but no takers yet but the place is looking lovely once again and the letting agent is confident of it being taken so hopefully it won't take too long.

Well, I've sold some of the shares this week and made a profit of just short of £2500 so I'm very pleased about that.

    yay.gifwell done on that :T:T:T:T

    Hi all

I'm a bit confused as when I logged on here on Friday to update my signature and post June OP update I got the 'site unavailable until 7pm' message - this was after it had let me sign in and write a message etc  It had also let me update my signature but I see when I've just logged on now that the signature did indeed change but the message I posted didn't work

Anyway, on to the nice stuff! I've made a £500 OP for this month which takes me to 43% of target for the year. I'm not worried about being a little behind as I'll make it up after September when the final stooze is repaid.

The money from my share sale has also gone into my account last week so a tidy 74% profit for only a little bit of mail biting and nerve :p

Hope all your own plans are going wel

    Regards

Was that chomping on postie each day or virtual mail biting on the e-mail? ;)
Gotta give you credit girl - I thought it a major risk when you took funds from stoozing to gamble on short-term returns; imagine if you did that in May 2008.....

    Well done on that one!

Hi Stuart, lol, what a great typo I made, it was supposed to say 'nail biting' but I think I like your alternatives better :rotfl:

Yes, I knew I was taking a risk and I'm just glad it came good with no '2008gate' ;) On reflection the stoozing has made no real money what with falling interest rates etc and me dipping in and out of it for a car and shares but on the other hand it hasn't cost me anything and brought me flexibility with the cash to be able to get the car and dabble in the market.

At the moment I just can't wait to get it all repaid so that I know exactly where 'my' money is (I do of course but you know what I mean) so that I can see my savings rise and more importantly ramp up the OP's to what they should be.

At the moment I'm expecting the year end balance on my interest only part to be just short of £84k but I've joined Financial Bliss's MFiT T2 challenge that starts at the end of the year and I've advised him that I expect my mortgage to be £80k at that point - this is the stretch target I've set myself:o

I know what you mean about money being where you can "see" it without clutter of other aspects to need to be accounted for. Best wishes with that target being only 5months away.

Thanks Stuart, yes, it's a tough target but I expect to be almost if not all there.

I've just sold another two books on ebay, I've really got into the swing of re-listing the ones that haven't sold straight away!

My ebay balance was up tp £54.92 this morning so I've just transferred £53 to my bank account so I'm really pleased with that:j

Just to report that I've just paid the second tranche of stooze money off so that just leaves the last one which is due in September. They've offered me another one to run to May next year but I'm not going to take it up but may consider it if anything happens to savings rates situation.

I'm all on track for this months Op of £500. Hope all your plans are going well
