    Hi

Anyone out there knows of any campsites with good basic facilities.

We are hoping to have a weeks camping at the begining of June.

We have two black labs which go everywhere with us and would love a campsite near a beach.

    Cheers - Pam

Castlewellan Forest Park and Tullymore Forest Park are absolutely beautiful sites, stunning views of the Mourne Mountains, about 2 mile from Newcastle,Co.Down. Your dogs would love it here!! But you have to book in advance. It is very popular.

Carnfunock Country Park also comes to mind, it is near Larne, has good seaviews.

Drumaheglis (I think that's how it's spelt!), near Ballymoney, is another really good site, not at the beach but is on the River. Very nice.

Gosh, there are so many. Have a nice time.

    Hello all,

sorry to jump in on the thread, but from childhood I remember the Forest Service did a "Touring in the Tree's" annual permit which considering we went away most weekends from march to october was reasonably priced back then (dunno what it is now, if it still is on the go) but it may be worth looking at.

Personal recommendations from years ago would be Drum Manor just outside cookstown (always head there any time I get back "home")

Florencecourt was very basic (toilet disposal and running water) but I haven't been there in years so it may have changed

    Castlewellan was always good too

    ahhhh wish I had a c'van now

Touring in the trees is still going, it's about £120 iirc, cheap camping as long as you don't mind roughing it a bit.
We used to spend nearly every weekend in the site at ballypatrick forest years ago and then 2 weeks in the summer touring round the forest parks :D
