hi madman
another caravanner here, although very new to it, we only had two trips last Summer in our new ( new to us but quite old in reality) caravan, one a week long down south and one two days up the North Coast. We went to Donegal and Portrush this Easter and had a better time and decided to give the caravan another go at May holidays having considered selling it following nightmare trips last year.
I haven't stayed at Carnfunnock however we visited two weeks ago and had a sneaky look at the caravan park, it looked nice. From memory it is a 5 star so the facilities should be good. The park has loads to do also, however im not sure what is opened in what days. Also nice location to get about the North Coast.
It would be good to hear if anyone else could recommend any parks in norn ireland or down south0 -
We took our tourer to Castle Archdale 2 Easters ago, its a good site but very muddy if the weather is not great. It was our first trip in our van and very nearly our last! One wheel touched the grass and we were bogged in. We had to get pulled out by a tractor after waiting for 4 in front of us to be pulled out. What sort of problems at castle Archdale. My BIL has just bought a static there!
Carnfunock is a really nice site with plenty of good facilities and playpark for the kids and a maze.Live on a little over £4k challenge

hi i was there with my partner and 3 kids one being a 2 year old we were right across from the toilet block and the fans had broken down at the side of the block leaving them to stay on the whole night i complained so did others they said they would check then said there wasnt a problem now they were ok the 3rd night there were on contsant like it sounded like someone putting a hairdryer in your ear, my 2 year old kept being woke up again the next day staff was rude and said we have had no other complaints i kept at them and they said they would get someone to look at them they were fixed on our 4th night at which point i was ready for the mad house ,they wouldnt move us either and they denied that i had made a complaint to the nightwatch man i asked for some kind of comp even 1 night they said they would ask the manager but guess what they were off on leave i came home wrote emailed they refused saying they had done all they could and had dealt with the problem right away ,load of dosh i wont be back again and guess what it lashed from the heavens the whole week :(thumbs down for castle archdale for me .~We are all going to hell and guess who Is driving the bus~*Norn Iron club Member 294* (Hi, we’ve had to remove part of your signature. We have been caravanning for years, me oh and 4 kids. Our favourite parks are Dungannon Park, Carnfunnock, and Watertop farm. All have very good amenities and lots for the kids. you can get a booklet of sites in Norn Iron from your local tourist board, updated every year, with ratings ,whats on site, prices ,etc.0

You can get a booklet called caravan and camping in most tourist info shops - very handy! Avoid Silvercliffs Ballycastle. Castlearchdale has lovely scenery - but they tend to cram people in, any space left and they stick a tent in - the ground gets very muddy when wet. try drumahoney and loan Eden in kesh instead! In fermanagh there is a new caravan park called rushin house in belcoo - first class! Mullanscarty lisnaskea is well kept. Drop me a PM if u need any more help!
check this website out http://www.carryoncamping.org/
look out for Gailio and weetrucker!!0 -
The share centre in lisnaskea is a great place, plenty to keep the kids entertained and usually the bar is open at night but not full of drunken halfwits.0

Hello to all the caravanners out there! We have been caravanning now for almost 10 years - from the youngest was 6 mths old. I'm looking forward to getting back out on site next weekend and we are heading to Drumaheglis. Every time in the past when we have rang Drumaheglis it has been booked up so looking forward to trying it for the first time.
We have stayed in Benone (can get a bit windy!!), Gosford, Bush and Tollymore.
All we need now is the weather a wee bit warmer!:D0
