As an alleged journalist I would expect you to recognise the past tense? Her current title, which is what you referred to, reads " Voluntary sector consultant and trainer".
However, don't let the facts get in the way of your viewpoint! If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -

But don't you think, given that she has been a tax inspector for so many years, that her comments will be weighted in favour of HMRC? Nick https://www.tax-hell.co.uk0 -
As the lady in question has 524 posts ..... perhaps you should do some research? And I think you will find they're 'weighted in favour' of fact .... allied to a good knowledge of how HMRC function. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0

It seems Mikeyorks knows someone who has a good knowledge of how the HMR&C work. With the number of Enquiries I am currently dealing with, I wonder if she could let some of the Inspectors into this good knowledge!0

I feel the same too. I'd be grateful for any informed advice - especially from a former tax inspector. If there are any factual mistakes on the site (https://www.tax-hell.co.uk) do point them out and I'll verify and correct ASAP.
Much of what I'm saying sounds outrageous, but I assure you it's true, this is how HMRC operates - this is how your tax £££s are being spent. Since The Sunday Times article I've had emails sent every day thanking me for making these issues public.

Memory lapse? From post #5 :-This site is just so full of half truths, unsubstantiated statements and downright lies that its impossible to know where to begin. I dont know if I even want to waste my time doing so - its a pity that most people will read this rubbish and believe it.If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -

The Tax Hell website (www.tax-hell.co.uk) is up for a New Media Award in the Campaign for Change category see here (http://www.newstatesman.com/nma/nma2008/entry/200805270010). I have to say I had nothing to do with the wording of the nomination - I don't think anybody takes on HMRC and wins, there are just degrees of loss. Cheers Nick0

That link doesn't work. Had a look at your website again and it's still awful but I did manage to find your "blog". I found this admission of great interest:When I completed my tax return for the pertinent years I deducted my tax and drawings as an expense. This was a mistake, but in the “other information” box and in an enclosed letter I made it very clear that I’d found the Self Assessment form confusing and I also gave a clear single column breakdown of which made it very clear of what I was doing.
It's no wonder they investigated your affairs; we'd all like to get a deduction for our tax payments and personal expenditure. If it had been me, I'd have gone quietly.
