I'm usually a lurker and have posted a couple of times but I really do need to start joining in!

My boiler went off last night and we had to phone for an engineer at 730pm. He has fixed it on a temporary basis and is coming back today so it would be nice to have the kitchen looking a little tidier than it did last night!

Unfortunately this means that I won't be able to make the appt at the Vets for DDoggie's injections. That's annoying - because I hate putting things like that off.

    I'll start with the list
Mad Monday - Living room, Hallway, Stairs
    Level One
remove clutter from floors, chairs and fireplace
Open the windows and let in some fresh air
    Level Two
    Vacuum floors and sofas
[STRIKE]Wipe and water neglected plants - no plants[/STRIKE]
    Dust those flat fluffy surfaces
    Level Three
Vacuum under the furniture you can move
    Clean windows, pictures, mirrors etc.
    Clear a hotspot
Vacuum hall and stairs.. all the way up to the top!!!!!
    Extras
    • Wipe woodwork in the hall and stairs
    • Wipe front door.. inside and out!
    • Wash any nets/curtains that need cleaning.. put up fresh ones!
    • Sort that corner full of shoes and coats and bags... I know you all put this off so get it sorted.. before the better weather hits!!
    Killer Kitchen - Tuesday
    Level One
    Clear and wipe work surfaces
Open the windows and let in the spring!
    Level Two
    Sweep and Mop the floor
Clean the gacky filters and drawers from DW's, WM's etc
Wipe the cupboards, appliances and all those manky corners!!
    Level Three
Wipe the table, replace cloth if needed
Clean all those small appliances, wipe their home then put them back.. are there any you don't use that can be flung?
Take EVERYTHING out of the cupboard under the sink give it a deep clean..
    Extras
    • Clean oven/hob if you must.. *rolls eyes*
    • HHI .. with your clean iron!!
    • Clean windows and sills
    • treat the pets for fleas!!! This is prime time for them to be developing an infestation.. the last thing you need in your house! (still not done mine.. bad me!)
    Also need to...

    Do ironing
    Put laundry away
    Put rubbish out
    Phone vet
    Make hair and eyebrow appointments.

    Morning Ladies!

:bdaycake: Happy Birthday to Sharon - hope you have a lovely day whatever you are doing

9 more days of DS being at full time nursery, and appointments tomorrow and Thursday mornings, so i think i need to make a bit of effort to potter more efficiently this morning at least. Me and DH are plodding on, but kind of burying our head in the sand a bit about how close B day is, and the volume of tasks. We were both exhausted last night though, so what more can we do. Although for me, i think it was more the stress of not being able to get on much and 'waiting'. The story of my life at the moment.

I might have to stay off the computer a bit today - think i am getting a bit addicted again at the moment. Not good till i am further on. Right, going to start by making a cuppa, and then tackling that under the sink cupboard. I will make it more presentable.

No: of items of rubbish found and binned/shredded today: 59 :j

Happy Belated Birthday wishes Michelle :bdaycake: sorry I missed it x

Happy Birthday Sharon have a lovely day. :bdaycake: x

LG Good Luck with the wedding plans, I've always thought the less time you had to plan the easier it was, no time to put things off probably lol.
Lil_me Good decision re: the OU course x

Had no computer yesterday, windows wouldn't load but didn't have time to fix it ysterday morning cause I had to go to work, got back in did some running around then had a go......how the hecky peck do I know what installation I want to repair  stoopid safe mode lol.....anyway booted from disk, it didn't work, I took it out in temper and bingo! fixed pc :j glad it started up this morning ok I would have not been a happy bunny :D

Work this avo but can do a few bits this morning, littleys still in bed, I've just emptied the bins then put the bin out for them coming or else I'd still be there too, made a cuppa then gonna do some stuff.

    put bins out
    hoover through
    make beds
    take clean washing upstairs
    ^^^^put away
clear stairs of junk (I'm gonna get one of those stair baskets from lakeland - I'm a devil for hoiking stuff on the stairs)
    empty DW
    put maiden down
    find summat for tea
have a mooch in littleys room, see what can be flung/tidied
    pay rent
    phone tax people

Think that's it....will add later if I find something else. x
  • Hi everyone,

    Happy Birthday Sharon_party_

Well last night was a washout - cooked supper - felt ill afterwards went for a lie down and crashed out before 8 :o

Probably going to take a couple of hours before I feel even half normal again but will make the most of it when it comes... utility cleared and ff in the middle of the kitchen again.

LikkleGibbon - Everything will work out perfectly - tbh probably better that you have less time to think/worry about it. It can get a bit stressful... but it can be done! We got engaged in Oct 1999, IL's insisted on a long engagement  so we settled on August 2001 however DD1 popped along in late 2000 :D Apart from the venue for wedding and the reception by April 2001 I had nothing organised:rolleyes: It was a very hectic few months though and I had lists coming out of my ears... I am looking back now and :D though!

ok gtg 12 hours with a vapor plug 3ft from my nose and I still can't smell a thing :rotfl:

Right, I've rung the tax people I'm now registered as self-employed, it was one of those things that I kept putting off (you know what I mean) but noticed there was a £100 fine if I didn't do it within 3 months - that spurred me on lol I was asked if I wanted to pay NI contribtutions errrr I dunno.. do I.. well not really, but I guess I should if I want to get any future benefits and pensions, they're sending the bill but I do have the option apparently. So that's out the way and a weight off....

Paid my rent too it's shot up to £69 pw, my mortagage would only be £70 (not inc. any insurances I'd have to take out with it).....need to make an appointment to get it sorted ASAP.

K, littleys now up and watching Zoey101, need to get her fed and think I'll make another cuppa whilst I'm at it.

Some for those that want one..:coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

Happy birthday Sharon. Hope you have a lovely day.

DS didn't sleep so well last night and was up and down with him so I am feeling a bit tired this morning. A few brews and I should feel human again. Have no social plans today so no excuses here!!

  • Quick question - What would you use if you wanted to "flush" out your washing machine? Mine is definately smelling a bit stagnant. I think I read somewhere something about soda crystals but I may have imagined that and wanted to check first

I just do a 95 degree wash (but we have a septic tank so have to be careful about "upsetting the balance" out there!) a cup of vinegar in as well?

    Happy Birthday Sharon!

Hope you have a lovely day.

Anyone up for a HHC 11-11.30. Need to clear my cupboard under my sink, do the window ledges and mop the floor (swept it already last night). Expecting the gas man this morning though, so might get interupted.

    Anyone in?
