I'd cook the lot in one go, then divide up the rest
I'd be tempted to use half in a curry, and the other half warmed up with some cream and mustard.

cook the whole joint, long and slow,in a casserole in some liquid,I like to use half water half beer. Its not a tender cut so needs this sort of cooking to tenderise it. Then it will fall apart and be really yummy. I like to add root veg in large chunks to the casserole and a couple of bay leaves,a spoon of mustard and an oxo cube.
When cooked it is great with mashed potatoes or sliced and eaten in a large floury white muffin with gravy to dip into. yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm"The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0 -
yes definitely cook in a Slow cooker and then slice and either use as normal joint or freeze for later It makes an excellent cottage pie when minced up and I would make several of these to go into the freezer.Got a lovely 'old fashioned' beefy flavour that you don't seem to get anymore in joints0

Hi sazzy,
There's an earlier thread with advice on cooking brisket so I've added your thread to it to keep the replies together.
This thread may give you some ideas for using the leftovers:

I have a nice peice of beef brisket i was going to do in the slow cooker early tommorrow morning, i'd like to try and make it cover as many meals as i can, i don't mind doing X number of the same thing as i can freeze portions. But other than a basic stew type deal i cant think what would be the most effective use of it.
Any ideas?0 -

You could eat the slow-cooked brisket as a roast dinner first then chop it up fine in the food-pro and make a load of cottage pie for the freezer?2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
