    Ok, thanks.
I could not get the proxy to work, so I resorted to using dial-up instead (different provider) and that worked!

I will test tonight the number with X-lite

Has anyone adding phone numbers to the address book in X-lite. I was trying to change a number and also add a new number but the settings were not saved when I restarted the computer. I was able to do it when I first downloaded the program but cant seem to now. I am forgetting to do something obvious?

    Thanks

Usually it is people on AOL that have the problem you are seeing or those outside the UK.

    Try: http://www.samair.ru/proxy/proxy-12.htm for a proxy.

Once you get a UK IP range, you should find Sipgate then lists the London 020 number you are after.

    http://www.xten.com/index.php?menu=download for x-lite.

Help for thicko need here. Can you please tell me how to do the proxy thing (i'm on aol) I have gone to the website but don't know what to do. I need someone to explain in very very untechie speak what to do. This is just what we have been looking for.

    Any help gratefully received.

Depending on your browser, you will need to enter the proxy details, many browsers allow easy selection of proxy.

However with IE you need to go into Internet Options, connections, and then either settings or LAN settings and enter the proxy details there.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

You find a UK proxy from the list of proxies (http://www.samair.ru/proxy/proxy-13.htm) and enter it in the Internet Options.

IE) 193.63.75.19:3127 - You enter 193.63.75.19 in the address option under proxy settings and the 3127 in the port setting.

No need to reboot, but once you have manged to get your number, remove the proxy details.

Shouldn't have to, might be worth trying some other proxies.
