but you must also not forget they are fast4 and they did the same sort of thing to all their customers not so long ago regarding the capped service!!!
unlike Redten users fast4 users HAD NOT paid in advance for 3 years unlimited broadband and they were freely given their MAC,s when requested in fact complaints to fast4 were met with an invite to leaveWho cares ??0 -

NJP probably don't have the right to offer us a MAC code even if they wanted so I don't think any blame should be put on them.
Whilst I wouldn't use them as an ISP because the service/price isn't what I'm looking for, I have to say their customer service IMO has been the best I have experienced for years.
OFCOM are after them too for slamming us into their service and then refusing us a mac code to get out. Actually it is NJP who have to give the mac code but are refusing until redten say it is all right.
Under OFCOM rules they should have given us notice BEFORE they tried to transfer us.

When the letters were sent they were from NJP if you needed to contact anyone it was their number or through their members centre as soon as they started getting to many calls all of a sudden they changed their tune and became unhelpful.0 -

At the request of Martin, I am looking into the Redten situation.
If you could summarise what the latest situation is it would be very helpful.0 -

People are going to get very confused on where we should be putting info
Agreed, no need for a new thread. Have posted this in the other thread too, ie if we were all in the same thread then you'd already know that and I wouldn't have had to write this post!!!0 -

Do you or anyone here have any advice they can offer me please?

1. yes --if you paid by credit card, phone your credit card company, send them the refusal via email or fax whichever they wish and ask them to recover the payment from redtens bank.
2. if no --go to your nearest citizens advice bureau and they will help you get a refund.

Oh Dear!!I paid for three years Broadband by cheque upfront. I saw the offer in a Computer Buyer or PCPro email newsletter.
I too had no problems with the service until it stopped completely on 10th March.
I got a MAC code from the BT wholesale holding page and used it to order BT Broadband. They did not tell me until the day it was due to be installed and delivered that the MAC code was useless.
All I want now is for Redten/NJP/Clode or anyone to aknowledge that I am owed 2 years service and either give it to me or refund 24 months at £19.99, so I can spend it elsewhere.
I have written emails and sent a fax to Clode and tried to contact Redten by phone and email. No replies except the one from Clode saying something was being sorted. Since then nothing.0 -
