Wedding Dresses from China?

Options
has anyone ordered their wedding dress from a company online that makes dresses cheaper than the normal dress shops, some i have come across are Landybridal and Millybridal, if you have, have you been pleased with the dress and do you have any pictures?

i am seriously thinking of taking this route as the price of dresses here are way over my budget, i just didn't want to risk ordering a dress for it to then be bad quality so would appreciate any experiences you have had.

hope to see some lovely pics, thanks :)

    Hi there,

I was thinking of doing this too but my niece has recently received a prom dress from China and it was awful. Looked gorgeous on the picture but seriously when it came it was tat. My sis has had to alter it and add lining etc to make it look half decent. Im not an expert though and hopefully someone will post a good story for us but its kind of put me off a bit. What about looking on Ebay US? Maybe that might be better.

  • i heard they are cheap from US too but the shipping and customs charge is quite high apparently. there are a few people on here that have had dresses from China and are really pleased with them so thats why i am hoping people have pictures as it's better to see proof that dresses have turned out and see 'real' pictures instead of the ones from the websites (which are just of the actual designer ones not what they have made) fingers crossed we'll both get some good recommendations :o

You've seen my pics. If anyone else wants a nose let me know.

I can't post them on here as OH comes on here and I don't want him to see my dress before the day but will email them if you PM me your email address.

My mum bought a ball gown off ebay from a Chinese seller. It arrived fairly quickly and wasn't bad at all - the sizing was a bit off and she had to have it altered (made smaller) but I think it only cost her about £60 overall, including the alterations. Everyone complimented her on the dress (it was a full length green ball gown, with a sequin leaf pattern on the bodice - looked a lot prettier than I'm making it sound lol) and it worked out to be a similar price to buying a Monsoon dress in the sale.

You do need to be really careful though, as I've heard some real horror stories and the quality varies massively from seller to seller.

Yes i would say check their feedback, contact the people who have brought the same dress that you want from that seller. I brought mine from ASAPBAY, i had contacted her a while before i was able to buy the dress, and when it was time to buy she no longer had it listed, and was away on the new year. So i went into a panic and went through every page on ebay around 700!!! looking for the same dress, only 2 other seller's where making it, and when i asked question i couldnt make out there replys, the english was really bad, and i knew i couldnt trust them to make it, i would of been dreading it! As i wanted stuff changing on the dress and if they didnt understand me, it would of been awlful!. So i held out for Landy to come back from her holidays, and sent her the link of the dress i wanted, and she has understood every change i want to make. So what i am trying to say is just research, and ask questions, and only go ahead if you are happy with them x x

I'm another asapbay buyer. If you PM me your email address I'll send you the pics. I didn't have to pay any import duty so it cost under £100 all together.

I'm waiting for my hoop to arrive so will have another try on then and it will look even better.

I think the pic is abit small haven't a clue how to make it bigger.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.
