! I don't trust anyone from Asda anymore, I'm even more convinced they're backpedaling as fast as they can go!!!!
That is a real small world... I don't trust them either... is that the Wallmart or the Asda ? Either way both managers appear to be telling porkies.. Mum said they really didn't want to know, and were making out as if it had been made up... pants really isn't it... Let's see if it comes our way then we'll take it from there... but sounds like a plan

Did you read the whole thread all the way through? Think that's been ascertained now, but Asda aren't even playing fair for those with 40th anniversaries.0

Well my local ASDA have finally got around to putting their poster up. There's only one poster and it's situated at the entrance doors that are least used as the car park at that end is tiny  It says it's between the 1st and 14th September and is anniversaries only. Nohing about it being a draw, just says take in your marriages certificate and ID and they will give you £40 in gift vouchers. I'm annoyed that they've backtracked as it was DH's 40th birthday on the 1st.I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....0

I wrote to Asda as my friend had difficulty and got this as follows:-
Thank you for your e-mail to ASDA Customer Relations.
The 40th anniversary promotion is for those ASDA customers celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary between the 1st and the 14th of September 2005 which is our anniversary. A claim can only be made between those dates and there is only one voucher per couple. Claimants must go to the Customer Service Desk in store and show their wedding certificate and a photo ID.
I trust this clarifies the position for you and should you need any further information or assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.
 Yours sincerely

Oh, right Asda, you're calling it the 40th anniversary of Asda now are you?
Perhaps they can explain why their current TV advert is advertising special offers in celebration of their 40th BIRTHDAY?!?!?!?! :rotfl: 0 :rotfl: 0

BUT it's the 40th ANNIVERSARY of their BIRTHDAY - the DAY ASDA came into being.

BAck in the old days in 1965 there would have only been 2 Saturdays in the dates given by Asda when people got married. This narrows it down a bit.0

Well I went to Asda last Sunday to try my luck and no you can't have one for birthday's why I asked as Asda weren't celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary so why not well it was for birthday's but a store up north (I wasn't told which one) lost over 4000.00 pounds in the first day of the promotion due to the fact that more people had birthday's than wedding anniversary's so they stopped the birthday part of it .I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you

I wonder if I tell Mr PP that he has just celebrated the 40th anniversary of his birthday, will it make him feel any better about being 40?!:rotfl:
Mrs Mix's post clarifies exactly what we suspected - just would have preferred them to have just been honest about the change of promo due to cost implications rather than denying it.0
