If Asda is 40 years old this year, surely it would have made more sense to have a promotion for 40 year old people to get the vouchers, rather than those who've been married 40 years. Feel sure the promo's been changed due to cost implications and just not been relayed properly to the stores.
Meerustar, any joy getting that poster?
Not holding out any hope whatsoever of hubby getting the gift card, but it would be nice to prove them wrong. I too emailed to say that certain stores were advertising it as birthdays qualifying, and all I got was reply asking which stores were so that they could arrange for the posters to be removed!!
What a joke. Think they need their own bottoms slapped 0 0

Hi, I've just phoned Asda in Edinburgh and they have said that they don't know anything about this and that Asda is actually more than 40 years old.... Has anyone got anything that we can use as proof as I'd like to offer this info to a colleague at work who is celebrating his 40th wedding anniversary this weekend.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.0

If it helps, if you pm me your e-mail address I can forward you the e-mail I received from Head Office confirming they are paying out for anniversaries but NOT birthdays.
Also, if Asda in Edinburgh are saying that they are more than 40 years old, then perhaps you should ask them why they are advertising on STV "to celebrate their 40th birthday they are doing 40 BOGOFs"0

Well, it worked for us! Our son told us about this, having read about it on this forum - it's our 40th wedding anniversary on 11 Sept, so yesterday we trotted off to the Asda in Oldbury, West Mids with our marriage certificate and they gave us a £40 gift card. We promptly spent it on whisky and gin ... Didn't see any posters about it, though. We weren't asked for any identification, even though we offered our passports! Wondering if we can try it in another Asda. She took our name and address, but just wrote it down on a petty cash voucher so it presumably isn't in any computer system anywhere ...0
