The offer is 100% genuine. I phone our local branch (Dundee) on behalf of my parents. Was put through to the manager who confirmed that the offer was correct and they should come in to collect their vouchers. He also asked if he could invite the local papers along for some free advertising!
I only discovered this site last night - so on behalf of my parents (and myself) thank you all very much for the free £40!
 Cheers,
 Mike0

It is our 40th anniversary on Sunday 4th and this was not advertised in our local store (Gateshead Metro Centre!). Thanks to you we went yesterday with necessary details and got the £40 voucher which we promptly put towards a dozen bottles of wine!!! The staff were very helpful although they hadn't at that stage been given full details of the promotion so we had to wait a while until they found out. But worth it for £40!!! Thanks very much.meerustar wrote:If you are celebrating your 40th wedding anniversay between now and Sept 15th, Asda will give you a free £40 voucher.
You need to take to customer services your Marriage Certificate and also Photographic evidence to prove who you are and they will give you a £40 voucher.
It's all to do with Asda celebrating 40 years.
Seeing as Im only 34 I can't claim and I've only been married since 14th July this year, I miss out .......... unless they accept a claim for 40 days marriage, hmmmmmmmm, now theres a thought ;-)

Asda press office have confirmed that they are giving away £40 vouchers in celebration of their 40th anniversary but only those celebrating anniversary's NOT birthdays unfortunately. So if your 40th anniversary falls between 1-14 September take your wedding certificate and some photo ID into any store between 1-14 September and claim your £40 voucher. Only one claim per couple.0

Thank you Meerustar - its my Ruby Anniversary this week so I just claimed the £40.
My Asda hadn't heard of the offer at Customer Services but after they called the Manager he agreed to pay!0

As our Ruby anniversary was 28th August thought we'd give it a go at our local store where we shop regularly anyway. At first they knew nothing, but after I'd spoken to the store manager I was told it was a draw for 1 £40 voucher per store. I'd be very interested to see proof of any posters that tell us otherwise as I, like many others who have posted replies about this, think Asda had have a rethink and are moving the goalposts after realising it was going to cost them a substantial number of £40s. It appears they've changed the dates as well, from 18th Aug (when apparently the promotion started originally) -14th Sept. To 1st-14th Sept. as the press release now states. Has anybody managed to claim the £40 outside of the currently stated dates? I would dearly love some positive proof to take back to the store and argue the case. I think Asda have acted very shoddily on this one!0

 Would that be 40 slaps?
 Indeed, lol.
Mrs Mix - let us know how you get on - I take it you've read the whole thread and seen that they say that they are only paying out on anniversaries and not birthdays. Or are you planning to try your luck? 0 0

I informed my friend of this offer. She went with her marriage cert to be told they knew nothing about it. Customer Services called management who hadnt heard of it. Eventually, they called head office to be told they are only doing it on the 9th September. I think its disgraceful. All my views are just that and do not constitute legal advice in any way, shape or form.£2.00 savers club - £20.00 saved and banked (got a £2.00 pig and not counted the rest)Joined Store Cupboard Challenge]0

I told my mum and dad about it, and they went along to Asda in Swindon, Wilts, and they told my mum that not everyone receives the vouchers, but that they would be entered in to a draw, but that mum and dad still had a good chance of winning as there was only one other couple who had entered. When mum questioned the fact that it was being promoted for everyone who was celebrating a 40th Anniversary the manager told her that it wasn't the case, and it was not advertised on an official website.
Bit annoyed about it really as I thought it would be a good suprise for them, and now it's just a let down.

Looks like we're the other couple in question as our local is Orbital Centre Swindon. Maybe we could get together & split the £40. That is if Asda pay it to either of us, which going by their attitude so far, is highly unlikely.
Incidentely, the same manager told me we were the only ones to apply! I don't trust anyone from Asda anymore, I'm even more convinced they're backpedaling as fast as they can go!!!!0

Update on my previous post. My friend went to Asda at lunch time and the lady that spoke to her the other day was there and apologised and said that she had in fact been wrong and they are sending her a cheque!
If I was all of you I would make a Big fuss and get them to phone head office. OR you phone head office and get a name that you can take with you to Asda - £40.00 is £40.00 after all.
