  • For sheets and towels I also have a simple towel bar rail on the inside of my airing cupboard door and one on the shelve - basically so things can hang nively. As I am on economy 7 they dry wonderfully overnight

We use all the radiators, a clothes airer and a rack that hangs on the back of that has about 7 rails good for drying sheets and towels. We move the airer and rack around the house to make the most of the sun coming through the windows and keeping them out of our way where possible

I have a tumble dryer that I only use in emergencies. Probably haven't used it since xmas. ALL of our drying gets done either in the airing cupboard or on a concertina type airer which has permanent residence in the bath as we only ever shower. Iv'e never used my airing cupboard for storing sheets/towels etc, just drying clothes. It has a hanging rail at the top too so things on hangers can dry at the same time as clothes are over the rails. For our undies I have one of those round things that has lots of pegs on it (no idea what its called) and this hangs in the airing cupboard on the top rail.

I wish i could use my airing cupboard just for drying clothes, but if i did that then i'd have nowhere to put my bedsheets, towels etc

I have an A-frame drying rack, upon which goes all the undies, flannels, dusters, boy's t-shirts and small stuff. That goes in front of a radiator in the utility/computer room. Teatowels go on that radiator, as its just next door to the kitchen.

Adults' t-shirts, everyone's trousers and pyjamas get dried on the dining room radiator, which has an over-radiator drying rack on it, so I can get three lines done at once, if necessary.

Duvet covers and sheets get folded into four and dried on that one, too.

Shirts and fleeces get put directly on hangers and dry hung in our bedroom doorway. Sometimes it means one has to limbo under them to get into the bedroom - but we cope.

If I ever have to wash something big like a duvet, or the sitting room throws, they get done one at a time and dry hung over the bathroom door. Its a good job we're not big on privacy, here.

We have a large airing cupboard, so that has a rail diagonally across with lots of coathangers.
I also have a dehumidifier, as my DH has an absolute thing about condensation! Hanging washing on radiators is just not permitted in our house .........when he's in!!!

In our bedroom we have a kind of built in cupboard but have put a rail in it and we use it as a wardrobe. At the top of this is a shelf where we put all our sheets/towels etc. To be honest we don't have that many sheets/ towels etc as there only 2 of us at the moment. I keep the most used ones in this cupboard and spares go in a suitcase in the second spare bedroom.
