agreed icheekymonkey, we should all carry on but just be a bit more "aware" of how we say things about the free GWP's like I said maybe just call them GWPF then we all know what this means without actually having to put great detail about how we got it.
what does everyone else think about this? Will not spend more money, but will spend more time looking for that great bargain!

Afternoon fellow Bootsers
Have had a very busy few days with lots of work, virtually no MSE and no Bootsing...what did I miss?
Did send OH to Boots in Cambridge City Centre last week and he managed to pick up some bargains - the No7 1950s style packaged eyeshadow trio and lip gloss trio - both went through at £2 each, think they were £9.50 each originally? The eyeshadow trio has a really fab dark metallic blue shade which goes perfectly with a top I bought recently so v. pleased! He also used my last 17 lip glaze voucher and got another GWP along with an eyeshadow...He wants to know how exactly I am going to get through 4 of these GWP, but I say they can always be given as presentsHe said there were loads of the No7 sets left but this was a week ago though.
On the subject of 17 GWP...I have managed to grab on eBay a couple of the cherry print lip palette GWP from earlier this year - I managed to stay out of Boots for the whole of January amazingly and so I missed them in store! Really pleased with them, it's just the Jonathan Saunders GWP I'm missing now (from sometime last year I think) - is it worth picking one up on eBay? Are the products/colours nice?
Think I need to have a sort through all my makeup tonight, I seem to have acquired rather a lot of it over the years...DFW no.554 - Proud to be dealing with my debts :TDAVID TENNANT CAN PROBE ME WITH HIS SONIC SCREWDRIVER ANYTIME...:AFLYING THE FLAG FOR THE CAMBRIDGE BOOTS TARTS :happyhear0 -

I sincerely hope that I'm not included in the two that shot you down. I picked you up on something else. But as MSE Andrea has now been involved, it's obvious that someone has possibly reported the obtaining of GWP's and how they're being obtained.
But just for the record, and for my future credibility, I'd just like to state that I wasn't responsible for MSE Andrea's message.
And to whoever just posted that these GWP's are free to put in your basket - of course they are - if you've bought the products.
If they were available to all and sundry for 0.00p, don't you think we'd all be filling up our shopping baskets with them? :rolleyes:Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive. ~ Sir Walter Scott0 -
They have no re-sale value really (well I don't think so) due to the sample-type products in them and I think if Mr Boots didn't want us all going in there spending our hard earned cash to get the gwp's then he would simply remove them from the shelves.
With all due respect jtb, have you looked on ebay recently?Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive. ~ Sir Walter Scott0 -
Yes passion, I meant resale value to boots (sorry, I didn't make that clear).:jWeight loss to date 1st 11.5lb :j0

passion8, no you werent one of those. You helped me to correct my mistake which I am sooo grateful for! I have seen other people critisied for getting the GWP yet other people have been praised! Everyone is entitled to their own opinions on these but we do need one rule for everyone.
I wasnt blaming anyone for andreas message I thought that she had looked on herself! How niave I am!
There just seems to be such a grey area around these GWP's that needs to be cleared up before someone get themselves into trouble. Will not spend more money, but will spend more time looking for that great bargain!

I agree, they are free when you buy the required items - its an enticement to make you buy enough to qualify - that way Boots makes money and it return you get an extra. If they cotton on that people are simply taking the GWP (whether through a till or self serve) then they'll make it harder for those who genuinely qualify for the GWP. Or, they'll reconsider how they handle their GWP.
Not seen Andrea post before so obviously someone felt bad enough to report a post, it also misleads new bootsers into thinking its ok to do these things.
I can see self serve being changed to accept no GWP and vouchers due to not being used properly, thus spoiling it for everybody.0 -

Thanks glidergirluk.
When it comes to grey areas, if it looks like a grey area, it's probably best to be avoided imo, until it's confirmed as a 'legal glitch'.
I'm not totally whiter than white btw. I naively posted that the S&G £2.50 bags were going through for free - and they were up here - but that was if you joined the health club. It didn't stop me from putting a second one in my basket when I purchased an item of S&G either.
Then, to make things even worse, I was telling everyone on the thread to just help themselves as they were free! But not for one moment did I think I was doing anything wrong, until I really looked into it.
GWP's are just that imho, and I'm not condemning anyone for trying to get one by other means - it could mean the difference (to some people) of whether there's a meal on the table or not.
The whole issue of how GWP's are obtained is what might be the one issue that puts a halt to these threads, and personally, if people are going to encourage others to get a gwp without a purchase, then it deserves to go 'underground'.
Hell, there's always MSN for like-minded people who see no wrong in grabbing multiple gwps (without a purchase) isn't there?Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive. ~ Sir Walter Scott0 -
Hi, I was wondering if anyone can recommend any Boots stores in London. I have been into my local Luton Boots twice over the last 2 weeks and have come out with nothing!!! I have been trying to be good as I am saving for my eldest daughters 18th Birthday party in July and just haven't been impressed with anything when I have been in. However on Monday its my birthday and I am going shopping with my husband in London. We don't have long as we have to go between dropping and picking up my youngest daughter to school. We have to fit in lunch too!! I have only ever been to the Sedley Place Boots where I got my 3 for 2 on the reduced No7 nail sets recently when we took the kids in the easter holidays to Madame Tussauds and I only popped in quickly so could anyone tell me any stores they would recommend for 1) a good clearance section (if they have any at all) and 2)being able to get a GWP (any of them) at all free with my purchases.
I have 3 £2.00 Bourjois etc... till splits to use plus the ususal H&B magazine vouchers and a 500 points on any No7 item, 100 points Soap & Glory, Double points, 100 points when you spend £15.00 (mailing) and a £5.00 Roc voucher which also came in the post with the free bag last week. I really like the Olay Regnerist or Definity range but don't want to spend all my money on them when I know you can get them alot cheaper on Ebay!!
Any recommendations from anyone would be appreciated:j
Sorry for the long post!!!0
