Grebe - glad you got your little tree protected in time. Once the snow stops falling, try and gently shake as much snow as possible off your protection. Your blossom may not be out of the wood yet. If the temperature drops below freezing tonight the blossom may yet frostburn. We have quite thick snow here too. I've just been out to clear the bird table for the birds and have three azaleas in flower which are covered in snow and which I fear will have all their petals damaged. Can't remember when we last had snow in April.

All of the snow has now gone, but as you say it is sooo cold, and I am sure there will be a frost. I am in Scotland and I never trust the weather or season not to bring snow when you least expect it and sunshine and warmth at the oddest times. ( Although the warmth out of season is a rare thing here ) Right now the sun is shining, birds are singing, and the wind feeling like ice. I'm off to make sure the wee tent is secure. Once again thank's.
