I wonder where all the ski-ers have gone.
We went to the USA in January, DIL had to travel do we helped with the gorgeous boys. Next trip is to Thailand in April, a tour and stay, which is ideal. It's for my big birthday.
I only just found this thread......it's nice to find one that talks about fun stuff.
Happy Birthday. :j:j
Thailand sounds wonderful....have a fabulous time.
I'm off on a cruise round the Baltic in 8 weeks. Got the itinerary yesterday. St Petersburg involves a lot of walking and hundreds of steps - I had better get in training.:rotfl:0 -
Hi kitty. :hello:
Hope you are well.0 -
Thanks, LL, my birthday is not until April, though. I can hang on the this decade for a while.
St Petersburg is very interesting, as is Tallin.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

He's happy however with the model we have, the 2.0 diesel. Insurance the same as the Roomster. It's this model - and that colour - the only thing we don't like!

We tend to keep cars for years, our old Ford Galaxy is 15 years old I think. I think the Seat Alhambra and the Ford Galaxy are virtually the same, well they look pretty similar to me anyway. DH has just had a new Kia, its a diesel as well, a Carens. It is a nice drive and very comfortable, makes my little roundabout look a bit sad but it is fine for me.Sell £1500

Yes, they are very similar, as is the VW Sharan. Of course the Alhambra is a VW, apart from the fact it says Seat on the front.
Our Alhambra took us backwards and forwards across Spain from south to north and back again, for eight years, as well as all the driving while we were there, on mountain roads, it was a great vehicle., fifteen years old when we gracefully retired it.
When we finally changed it, we didn't need something as big, but stuck with the VW group and had the Skoda Roomster - very pleased with that too....hence the Yeti this time for the higher driving position.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

We've had the new car for a few weeks but DH can't bear to let the Galaxy go!!!!! He is a hoarder and just hates letting things go and I'm happiest on a trip to the tip to get rid of junk. If ever a couple were mismatched :rotfl:Sell £1500

Both of us will throw things away, we are not hoarders, but I must admit to giving the Roomster a pat on its bonnet, thanking it for serving us so well, and hoping it goes to a good home.:o(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Compared to DH you are a hard hearted womanHow he ever got so far in the police force when a plant drooping or an old car being sold is too much for him.

This thread has been quiet for months. Is nobody spending?
DH has just bought a car, not new, 2014, but still has loads of modern technology. Struggled to make the sat nav work properly, so he is studying the handbook now. I have realised how much he relies on it. We used my phone to get us home. Instructions were clear but because he couldn't see a route on his screen, he missed a turn, even though I had just said, turn right here. I manage well enough in my car by studying a map book first, and making myself aware of routes, towns etc, and listening to my phone if need be. I don't want to lose my navigational skills.
Other gadgets include a device that stops you needing to use the handbrake if you pause on a hill. Clever. And of course, keyless ignition.
I had to bite my tongue when we pulled up a petrol station and although he said he knew which side the petrol tank is , he got it wrong! Doh! At least he didn't put diesel in, having changed from a diesel to petrol car.
I have decided I don't want to change my car. It is 6 yrs old but very low mileage so no point really. I struggle to spend money.0
