I sure could use guidance as I dont really have a clue, I look at the jockeys shirts and pick ones I like:rotfl:
Can anyone tell me how I do an each way bet?
Thanks
Minimum bet on betfair is £2, so you have £25 to play with.
Why not pick 5 horses to spend £5 on - never any fun in this race having only one horse that falls at the first!
Perhaps 2.50 win and 2.50 place?
In order to bet each way you need to place two bets - one on the 'Grand National' Market and one on the 'Grand National TBP' market.
The same horses will be listed in the TBP market but there prices will be lower than those in the win market because you will win in the TBP market if the horses finishes 1st 2nd 3rd or 4th0 -
I got the welcome email from Betfair which says if you follow 6 steps (3 steps = £5 , the next 3 steps = £10) back.
The steps are :
Place a back bet
Place a Lay bet
Bet in Play
(the other 3 are things like play a casino game...)
Does anyone know with the bets if these can be done on the grand national making an additional £10 on top of the £25 ?No person is your friend who demands your silence, or denies your right to grow. :kisses2:0 -
I think they have them in order of who is more likely to win. But as this is the national you never can tell who is going to be first past the post!OD Girls On TourBarcelona 2008 - Dublin 20090

Grand National is called the housewives flutter for a reason. I know that I wont get addicted, I dont know what I am doing!
I know people are going to have a flutter regardless but my objection is that by posting on here, it is alerting peolpe who otherwise may not have bid....
It really doesn't take much for an addiction to kick in.Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid doing altogether.:D0 -
What is a Lay bet?
Each way is if it comes first or second isnt it?0 -

A lay bet is betting that the outcome won't happen. You can lose more than your bet though so beware.OD Girls On TourBarcelona 2008 - Dublin 20090 -
I shall ignore Lay bet then, sounds a bit complicated.
I am going to stick to just normal bets, maybe each way. Although that sounds tres complicated to do!0 -

E/w is 1st 4 in the National.
A lay bet is something you really don't want to get involved with at this stage of your betting career!
If I think a horse is going to lose - I can choose to lay it. For example, If I am sure that Red Rumwon't win I can put a lay up of 100 which means that you could take that bet for £1 and if it wins I have to pay you £100. If it loses - I win £1
Please remember, that betfair isn't a regular bookie. It is a betting exchange. you can do things here that you can't do with a regular bookie.
Please all of you - place your free £25 in bets - and have some fun with it on the National. Then walk away0 -
I can't seem to do it as i only have an Electron card
I have no credit card to pay the £2 to prove i'm over 18

I could not agree more!
I think I will try the Each Way on the favorite, then the rest on the next top few. I think that might be worth it. The bet is free anyway. So worth a bash!0
