I've bet on horses for years - my wife probably has as much success using the method above whenever we go to the races.
The odds on betfair are represented as a decimal. For example if you put £10 on a horse whos odds are showing as 10.5, then you would win 9.5 x your stake + your stake back - £95 + 10 = £105
£5 on a horse at 28 would be £5 x 27 = £135 + £5 stake = £140
Betfair charge 5% commission on your winnings.
so staking £10 @ 10.5, you will receive back, (95-4.75)+10=£100.250 -

Bascially put your money on horses by using the BLUE box. The lower the number in the blue box the more favourite it is.OD Girls On TourBarcelona 2008 - Dublin 20090

So, people that have already joined (last night / this morning) and placed their Grand National bets - before the field has been cut - will lose their money if bet was placed on a cut horse?
Is that correct?Your = belongs to you

i have only just joined - have i lost my money now it is suspended? does that mean you cannot bet anymore?
should i just withdraw the money back out of betfair?
or will it be opening for bets again?0 -

Thought so. This is why it is abit of problem for 'unfamiliar with betting' peeps.
More regular flutterers (!) would have seen the the runners list on Betfair for the GN was waaay too long and was still to be cut.
I guess in thoery those people wouldn't have lost any dosh as the £25 comes back, BUT you wouldn't be able to re-do a selection for another £25 as you would already be registered.
Take a step back guys, wait until tomorrow.....!Your = belongs to you

The market will open again later today - but as another poster advised, don't place anybets until tomorrow. Or even better - Saturday morning!
Horses can and will withdraw at any point before the day of the race and you won't get your money back if they do!0
