Well I took the the advice from Martin as 'read' but I should have read the T&Cs. You have to match the bet with at least the same amount or more. So, essentially it's not as per what Martin said, bet £25 and get it back the next day. This is the second time I've fallen for something like this, did the same last year on PaddyPower, I didn't get my free bet due to some rule/condition in the T&Cs, but I trusted Martin on what he said. That was pretty stupid. Now, I've loaded up my £25, luckily I've not placed my bet, but I can't work out how to get my money transfered back onto my card. The transfer fund but is greyed out, and of course, no contact numbers to speak of.

Martin, I thought you checked out the T&Cs as you're the expert, obviously not! BAD ADVICE!

Im confused  Are you saying you have to bet £50? £25 and match another £25...Im new to this and I bet £25.. and i still havent recevied anything..It also couldnt verify my age!!! Im worried now i Lost £25 which i cant affored to loose.

hmm if this is true there could be a lot of annoyed people.

I am happy as I won nearly £100 but it is the feeling that you have been duped that is horrible.

If anyone who won fancies another amount of money then there is currently another promotion on betfair with the casino.

Transfering £10 into the casino (apart from giving you a £10 bonus on top of it - so it shows as £20 balance) gets you £10 back. Now if you play the low odds games (like the Pai Gow poker) you shouldn't lose that much - giving an extra £10.
Stake £10 at Betfair Casino before midnight 6th April’08. Whether you win or lose we’ll refund your casino balance with £10!

How to claim your free trial

    - Using your standard Betfair account transfer a minimum of £10 into the casino.

    - Stake a minimum of £10 playing Main Lounge casino games before midnight 6th April ‘08. Please note, you can place bets at any staking level and across multiple games, as long as your total wagers add up to at least £10.

    - We’ll credit your casino balance with £10 within 48 hours, for you to enjoy as you wish.

It really is that easy, and with over 40 games to choose from we’re sure you’ll find something you like.

If you’re not sure about a particular game then we have information to help you in our Games Info section of the casino website. You can even play our games for fun before you start staking real money, so you can be comfortable with the games you play.

The extra £10 Bonus only becomes real money after playing through £300 so I didn't worry about losing it too much when moving the cash back to the betfair wallet after playing 10 games or so.

    NO NO and NOOOOOOO

    You deposit £25.

You spend that £25 on the Grand National.

Spend it how you like - all on one horse, or on lots of horses.

    Wait for race to end.

Wait for up to 24 hours AFTER the race has ended for your £25 to be credited to your account.

    End of.

    Feels huge sigh of relief!

This is a totally different offer to what the PP one would have been.

PP would have been bet something like £10 and get a £10 free bet. You have to use the free bet to bet with (ie cannot withdraw it)

With the Betfair one you will be able to withdraw the £25 when it is credited.

  • In reply to Coolagreen's post quoted above... you had to actually bet your £25 on the race to get the £25 back. Just loading £25 into your Betfair account wouldn't qualify you for it. Hopefully you can at least get your funds back from Betfair... can't imagine that you won't be able to.

Won £22 on Comply or Die which is showing in my account but no stake back and no Quidco tracking as yet - but I'm patient so I'll give them a (wee) while to sort it... I expect they have been rather busy.

See my 9.34 post which correctly explains what your account balance should be (once you get your £25 credited).

You do not "get your stake back". The stake is deducted from your account if the bet loses, the winnings are added if the bet wins. You pay commission on any net winnings.

The Ts and Cs actually say "placed MATCHED bets" - I believe someone has interpreted this to mean "matching the free bets" instead of "matched" as meant on betfair.

good old Comply or Die - am £250 richer + £30 through quidco - don't think I'll get my £25 back as well as the account went through with the quidco code, my first bet ever - and my last unless a free one comes up of course.

    Huge thanks to Martin.:T

It looks to me like they have paid £25 into Betfair expecting the £25 back to be credited straight away but they didn't actually place a bet on the race. Apologies if I've got that wrong.
