Surprised this deal hasn't found its way over here yet so ill post it up. i-Smart-Sim 2008 software unlocks all Nokia's and "Allegedly" most other cell phones. Ive tried my one on any phone I could lay my hands on and its worked flawlessly so far on mostly Ericsson's Nokia's and Samsung's!

So, a portable unlocking device for 4 of your English pounds. Cracking deal if you ask me considering people on some mobile phone forums are charging £20 upwards icon_eek.gif

Do I have to make a special trip to get English pounds to buy one?

Does it actually 'unlock the phone'? Or does it just spoof the communications so that the phone doesn't care about the network that your SIM belongs to?

    (I suspect the latter)

Yup, thats why I said "software unlock" not a hard unlock ;)

Its not software and it does not unlock the phone.

It tricks the phone into thinking there is a test sim in the phone.

How does a test sim work. It runs code (software) right, or am I missing something here.....hang on, it could be the sim fairy's that use magic to make it work.

For most of Sony mobiles, you could use the data cable to send a patch to your mobile. This will bypass the lock.

You should go and argue the point with the vendor..... :T

    - Designed to unlock operator locked Nokia phones
    - Simply slide the attachment under your normal SIM card
    - Ultra-thin film-like design minimizes and sometimes avoids the need to cut and trim SIM cards
    - Manufacturer claims that this also works on some models of the following phones
    .

Tut tut tut, some mother do av em......

it does NOT unlock the phone just tells the phone that the correct sim is being used in the phone.

they will be useless soon as all the manufactors have pluged the hole which allow this to work in there latest firmware versions.

these can be brought in the UK for roughly the same price ~£5.00.

I to am aware that they will be plugging the hole which will make the device useless, also I am a phone unlocker and I wouldnt say it is looking after our interests about telling people about this, it is more letting people know that they will be just throwing money down the drain as the device will no longer work, it may cost a few more pounds to do it our way but is a proven way of doing it and will always work. Its not a case of ripping people off as if you look at James-73 posts or any of the phone unlockers on here we do most of the unlocking on here for free and if not offer them the Best and cheapest option available.
