I meant some sorry my typing is sloppy today. As usual the few spoil things for the many.

I don't believe they should suffer, they should have paracetamol or ibruphen not the mixed sugar laden rubbish that some shops sell as medicine though.
No probs - and I agree - but a baby wouldn't swallow it if it tasted awful, so I'm not sure how you can get round it. Even if you get paracetamol or ibruprofen suspensions from the hospital, it's still the same syrupy gloop.

Tig - no, paracetamol and ibruprofen aren't being withdrawn, it's the medised-type stuff and I think some cough medicines.

Bunny - not sure if I can do this weekend, but will catch up with you online and see if I can arrange anything. Stu has taken the week off to spend time together, so it's a bit awkward to disappear off for the day. :o

    Hello All

Who says DFWs don't take risks - I am eating dark chocolate whilst sitting in my newly changed pristine white bed!!!

On the meds for infants thing:

Here is the guidance from the royal pharmaceutical society of great britain - link

Press release from MHRA (organisation that regulates medicines and medical devices) link

    and finally

Additional clarification from MHRA because of confusion from first statement - link

No, Calpol is fine Lenny - I think there's 2 seperate issues here - whether or not the cough/cold type remedies should be withdrawn (which they have been), and whether or not the calpol/childrens nurofen type medicines should be withdrawn due to sugar content etc (which they haven't been).

All a bit confusing, and I think I will just not worry about it and use my common sense and maternal instinct....lol!
