    morning all

hope everyone is well, hugs for all of those who arent or just need one anyway.

yesterday was expensive:mad: £30 each to see the dental hygenist for about 7 mins each THats £60 gone.
youngest DS is 8 tomorrow went into town after dentist looking for gutair hero fro him (Hmv are advertising it for £30 but dont have any in stock) hes got a couple of other little pressies so i might give him an iou rather than paying the £50+ the other shops want. got to make his cake later.

sunny here so far got a load of washng doing to hang out, my iron is 'BER' HD took the back off and its had water in it fr a while the screws were damp and corrodded he cant believe i havent managed to electrocute myself before nowe so hes cut the plug off it.
i prefer a heavy iron has anyone got any recomendations?

nipped in asda yesterday and got a bargain, yougest DS needed a white shirt for a choir outing spotted one on the sale rail for £1 is a little bit big for him but i can easily sew bands into the inside of the sleeves to take them up a little bit. They had quite a few clothes reduced to £1 and £2 thats the fosse park store near leicester. I was amazed at the difference in the price of vitalite margarine. its 70p in morrys, 80p in iceland and 88p in asda!!!! no wonder morrys had run out on saturday!

eldest DS is out gardening for his grandparents today but choir has started up again tonight so boys have early tea, DH is out sorting something out with his mates so late tea for him, not sure about the girls yet.
    today is a nsd!:T

i hope everyones day has something good in it

Not much time to cook once I'm back, so it'll be the old favourite poisson d'avril for tea. I'll post the recipe if anyone asks ;)

  • Morning all, bright and sunny here at the moment but there's lots of clouds lurking in the sky so will probably pour with rain later.

Hugs to Smokey, Kyle and anyone else in need.

Cleaning day here again (turns up far too often for my liking) so will be getting down and dirty with the vinegar and microfibre in a moment. Not showered yet though so have to get dressed first :o

If it stays nice I might get out in th garden and start preparing the tubs for my veggies. DS21 has promised to come with me to the garden centre to carry growbags for me as my back won't take it but as my new credit card hasn't arrived yet I'm seriously short of cash this week so can't go until that turns up. Oh well, I'm saving lots of money while I'm stuck here destitute :rotfl:

Fish for supper tonight, have found a recipe for roasting white fish wrapped in bacon so will give that a go as I have a couple of rashers waiting to be used up in the fridge. Sounds a bit unusual though;)

Right, should get on with it I suppose. Have a fun April Fool's day all.

Washing machine is on as it is a good drying day and had a bacon sandwich and tea for breakfast.

Dds have not surfaced yet so am leaving them in peace.

Was going to make potato and leek soup in the slow cooker but it looks as if it will be too nice a day to really appreciate it so might make a quiche or potato hotpot instead.

Need to get DH to drive me to get some more big boxes of washing powder as they are too heavy to carry and look for bargains at the same time.

Hugs to smokey , anniestar and Martyn and anyone else who could do wih a hug.

    Morning :hello:

Am having "one of those days" so far this morning... overslept so couldn't aim for an 8am start at work so as to go to the gym at lunchtime... left the flat at 8:20 to be in for 9... noticed the traffic was quite heavy on my street and no sign of a bus, so decided to walk up onto the main road... found the traffic virtually stationary all the way from Camberwell to the Elephant roundabout... started walking (in brand new high heels - OUCH)... got on a bus further up where the traffic was moving a bit more freely... realised that I had left my mobile phone on my bed  so couldn't text my boss to say I was running late... finally got into work at 9:15... miraculously my boss didn't say anything - he's very good about most things but he hates it if I'm not in by 9 on the dot. Will placate him further later with what's left of the lemon drizzle cake :D

Turns out that as I suspected, one of the neighbouring arterial roads was closed due to an accident, hence the mad traffic.

Tonight I'm cleaning my flat due to probable parental visit on Friday  The bathroom won't need much cleaning, and the kitchen won't take long - the living room is the main nightmare, and HAS to be done if Mum is going to sleep on my sofa bed

I'm also making a batch of HM macaroni cheese for the freezer.

PenPen, I can't believe you're having poisson d'avril for TEA!   Here was I thinking it was traditional to have it before noon :D;)

Hugs to all in need :grouphug:

    Love Rzl xx

    Morning everyone,
Hope you are all having a good start to the month. Being ill seems to be the thing in the Powie household at the moment. I just now seem to be recovering from a nasty sickness bug, which seems to have hit my DS and OH as well.
Anyhow, hope you all have a pleasent day. Best Wishes

    Morning,

Jet - Good luck with the new job
N9Eav - We got an email from EDF a while ago, offering us a wind turbine (for the bargain price of £1083!). If OH and I ever build our own house, it will definantly be powered by reneweable energy.

I had a nice lie in this morning - I could still get a call asking me to go in to work, but hopefully I won't.

So, plans for the day - well, it's nice and sunny but windy, so looks freezing (haven't been outside yet). I could do with getting out in the garden really.
I dunno, probably clean the bathroom, clean the kitchen (including mopping the floor :) ), finish off my menu plan/freezer inventory etc. Maybe do some Ebay listings as I am going to have a massive shortfall in my earnings this week.

Had a really productive day yesterday, made a lemon drizzle cake and it was all gone before it was even properly cool (OH had most of it I hasten to add). I wasn't that impressed with it, used Nigellas recipe and found it quite dense. Bought a new fridge as our fridge/freezer that we borrowed almost a year ago had to go back :).

Anyway, hope you all have a good day
