I actually meant bothy you and the wife rather than both credit reports. There is a 3rd CRA, but i don't think they do free trials. (Callcredit)After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Im in a blummin rage, someone from cap1 called to say the letter i sent didnt have a matching signature to the one they have on record.?
The account must be 6 or 7 years old how the hell can i remember how i signed it way back then.
Apart from that things are OK, so far everyone has agreed lower payments until i sell the house...Phoning CCCS was the best thing i ever did and i should of done it years ago.:j'Beware of little expenses. A small leak will sink a great ship'. -Benjamin Franklin.0 -
What letter did you send?
Are you sure this is your account, or could it be someone elses with the same name they are trying to get you to pay?
Glad things seem to be going okay for you. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

I wish it wasn't my account but it is, i sent a letter explaining my situation and offering a lower payment,i had previously sent some others and they had no problem with the signature then and they replied to them as well.!?!?!?!
I said to the fella on the phone that as far as i know i can sign a letter however i like.
It probably isn't the exact same signature as the original as i have changed it over the years but what a strange thing to say after months of correspondence.
I always quote full account details in letters so they know full well who i am.
I sent the exact same letters for my wife's account and they set up a payment plan no problem so i know the actual letters and offers and correct and acceptable.
They gave me a number ring tomorrow but i don't know how i can prove my signature on the phone.?'Beware of little expenses. A small leak will sink a great ship'. -Benjamin Franklin.0 -
Whoah woah woah!!!
These negotiations should not be done over the phone. You need to send a written offer to them (which you have done) and get their written response. Anything they say on the phone isn't worth the paper it's written on.
If you call and it's only to clear up the matter of the signature so they know they are dealing with the correct person, then fair enough. But if they start trying to get you to arrange payments and putting pressure on you to pay more than you can afford - tell them straight out that you have been advised that all communication regarding the financial settlement of the account should be made in writing only and you will not discuss this with them over the phone. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

The matter of signature is probrably a red herring. If they are uncertain as to the identity of the OP they should not be chasing.

Thanks guys, yes the phone call was only for the purpose of the signature issue, they do phone me quite often and ask for another payment but as mentioned i always tell them to wait until the next statement is due and only then will i pay.'Beware of little expenses.
