Work is just as it was...im not complaining im lucky to be in a job in the current climate.

Wages cover essential bills loan and a C card, im left with ALL living expenses and two further cards.................cards pay cards....cards buy food.

Its a familiar story im sure, but when it all runs out (very soon) what do i use for money.....ive got nothing absolutely nothing.

Im considering going down the route of CCA/SAR requests to see if i cant get some leverage along the lines of unenforceability but its a long shot and knowing my luck it will all be in perfect order.

Oh and a new set of tiny feet will be here in a week.

What the hell next..i suppose the roof will blow off the house.

  • First....congratulations on the new tiny feet due.

Secondly, you really must speak to someone at one of the charity debt companies. Or cab. They will be able to give you the help you need to get your finances in order. Call them tomorrow

Try to stay positive ( easier said than done I know).

    Still too much debt :(
  • please speak to someone...I know its hard but if youre using cc's for day to day expenses and cant do without then the point will soon come when you run out of credit...much better to sort things before it gets to a point where choices are no longer yours but made by others....

    hi
I have not read all of this, so may have posted to you before, so apologies if so. That said....

7+ yrs ago we were where you are now, we had 61k worth of debt and I was considering cyanide as a seriuos option. The cant-take-it-not-sleeping-stomach-churning-dismal-shame-worry of our hopeless situation. I was not working cos of a sick child and at the time OH was a nurse, so not a lot of money coming in either.

We are now nearly thro, didn't sell the house and will pay the last debt off next yr. We have paid back every penny that we owed. It CAN be done.

My ideas--more or less what we did, although I did not know about this site at that time, or about any of the debt charities, so missed out on lots of useful advice.

1--open a new bank account at a bank that is not part of the chain that you already use and get all your money paid into that. This is a priority--you need money to live on each month and to pay your essentail bills. If you can't set up direct debits from your new account you will have to make sure everything is paid by cheque or cash.

2--sit down and work out exactly how much you NEED each month. To include mortgage, council tax, utilities etc. These are priority bills and must be paid each month.

3--contact a debt chaity, they can help you do the budget and will give you a reference number to use when dealing with creditors.

4--either on your own (loads of template letters to use on this fab site) or with a charity help write to each of your creditors, explain your situation and offer a token payment each month and PAY IT.

5--ONLY deal in writing with your creditors, never speak to any of them on the phone. They will keep ringing you, and will ignore your letter telling them you will only deal with them in writing. Be prepared for some very nasty phone calls. We changed our phone number, wish we had done it earlier. I know some people use call-barring instead.

6--be prepared to offer the creditors a reduced payment each month and stick to it. It may be that you will need to sell your house, or you might be able to stay there, difficult to tell until you get some face to face advice.

7--get on with life-enjoy your new baby and try to get some sleep. You are far more than your debt, and there is nothing to be ashamed about owing some money.

I know that it must all look bleak, but take another deep breath and call for some help.

Hi.....I can only add what others have advised....CCCS/CAB or Nat Debtline who are probably the easier to get hold of....they are all so busy.

I was where you are...got to point where I had no choice just to use cards to live...I stopped the rot before my credit ran out & I am so glad I did.... Cab sorted me a debt management plan for now but the pressure has eased & I no longer have head in the sand moments.

Good luck on the tiny feet due.

    Hi
I echo the other advise that you have been given!
Well done on having the courage to post again!
There is NO DEBT that cannot be resolved.!! There is loads of help available to you through the free debt comapnies ; CCCS Payplan NDL .

I felt exactly as you do at the beginning of the year, we were maxed out on all cards, loans up to the hilt, overdraft used up! I couldn't sleep for the worry I cried for days and days. I spoke to CCCS and within a week felt like a new person! 6 months down the line we still have virtually the same amount of debt (approx 68k) but the diff is we're dealing with it, and have our lives back and can sleep at night.
Please don't let this ruin what should be an exciting and memorable time for you. . . . .there is a solution!
    Take care

I wouldnt feel half as bad if i didnt have a secured loan...What an idiot.:mad:

I will try and do a an sao but it will only be for you to see how stupid ive been.

My main concern besides the house is that my wifes C card is one of the biggest we have (10K) and i know she will never be able to deal with all the c**p from creditors, especialy with a new baby in tow. i will try and do what i can on her behalf.

Does she know about the level of debt? PLEASE get some help...this isnt going to go away. I know that awful, gut wrenching feeling and all the guilt, feeling stupid etc that goes with it but if yu dont take action and get this sorted soon then it will get to the stage where there are knocks on the door, endless phone calls etc.... we're all behind you but the choice is yours at the end of the day...

    Morning!
We too have a massive secured loan on top of our massive unsecured debts. They make these secured loans very attractive to people who are struggling don't they! Then a few years down the line we realise that actually it is prob one of the worst things we could have done!! Even with your secured loan this debt can still be resolved. My hubby has a couple of CC's and he too has been dreading taking any calls, so if I can I just intercept them, tell them he's not available. . . . . they then call for the next few days and then end up sending a letter. I know there are some horror stories on here regards phonecalls etc, but actually, and I'm sure many will agree they're not halve as bad as you expect.
Please post you soa, I'm sure you haven't been any more stupid than the rest of us!
Remember this can be sorted you've no need to bury your head in the sand any longer!
    Take care and good luck
